Dear Observer reader, you guessed it. It’s that time when for those of you who read the newspaper on an irregular basis, or really need the short version of what was hot in Hathian and surrounding areas, we present to you the February digest; our month in review.

As a reminder in December we posted our Year in Review for 2023 and then in January gave you the first of the ‘Month in Review‘ series. As long as Hathian doesn’t murder yours truly, we will keep doing a monthly recap of our top three stories. Of course there are many others, so do make sure you search and browse our website!

In February 2024 we had 34 main articles published and then all the normal gossip and other things that fill our pages, along with advertisements, coupons and the like. Here are your Editor’s top three for this month as well as honourable mentions.

Honourable Mentions:

February started with Nuts and Clowns, when the Circus Maximus (as we now know them) became more prominent. An interview with Nuts and Mr. Bob featured and gave a bit more insight into their ethos. Down in Laveau a series of murders was the focus of our reporting and this is an evolving story with hopefully arrests coming. Meanwhile in Hathian, Charlie had left his normal spot on his car and was busy making the city acquainted with his chainsaw… Down in CU meanwhile, the normal volleyball games were going on, but there was also an in-depth interview with Rachel Wesson from the team. Down over at HGH and involving HPD as well, our journalists investigated a murder and perhaps managed to clear HPD officers of a crime. Finally it was nice to see the Hathian arts and culture scene improve, with a casting call for the theatre; all the world is a stage Hathian, get yourself over to some acting and help out!

Joint Number 3 – Bourbon Street Burns

After all the hard work businesses and others went to, it was a real shame to see Hathian gangs doing what they do ‘best’ and ruining it for everyone. After a day of partying it was then the unlucky job for the FDH to put out the flames caused it appears by the Rejects, a notorious gang within Hathian. The Observer staff would like to commend FDH for their work and also the event organisers; before the Rejects ruined it, it was great.

Joint Number 3 – More of Hathian Burns – FDH Work Overtime

Towards the end of the month, the FDH was again called on to save lives as they entered a burning building to save hostages from the evil Yuugen group that had somehow captured a range of officers and others and in effect left them to burn if FDH couldn’t save them. Putting the firefighters into a hugely stressful situation it was amazing how much they achieved in saving five!

Number 2 – Z For Zoey ‘Fratricidal’ Adachi-Martiel

Zoey was the subject of an exposé as a result of a dossier of facts, photos and evidence getting dropped of at the Observer. Exposing her murderous ways in the clearest manner possible it showed that Hathian really did attract all sorts. Subsequently, it was reported that Zoey disappeared and later reappeared with extensive injuries. Make of that what you will readers.

Number 1 – Horror. Pigs.

In February an exposé of officers in HPD (Carter / Black /  Ziau Adachi) was published highlighting their alleged crimes against multiple civilians. While the waters were later muddied when it turned out one of the women pictured being abused was actually the wife of one of the officers, never-the-less other testimony and evidence continued to paint a bleak picture.

This story developed further with Hathian groups attempting to deliver some retribution. Pig heads were staked outside HPD,

Then a parade of pigs was seen in the city, much to many people’s amusement.

And that was that for February dear readers! Many thanks to Viv, Rhys, Lua and others for their work, and thank you anonymous citizen journalists and dossier droppers. You are doing good work!

As always, catch a reporter in CU or Hathian (or Backwaters where Viv has been recently) to give us your stories, tips or other information!
