I came to Hathian two years ago and during that time I’ve heard a lot about the Hoppers and you probably have too. I won’t go into details, but it’s an interesting but also very dangerous and dark family. Let’s say. Once you get on their bad side, you’re in big trouble.
That’s why I try to be on their good side and maybe that’s why I was invited to their Thanksgiving dinner. I was worried naturally. It could be a trap and I could end on their table. Have you heard the term long pig? But I decided to take a chance and risk it and bring you the report as that is my work.
I accepted the invitation and replied to Lucas that I would come and take my friend with me, Lucas agreed. That told me it might not be a trap.
Church, House of God and House of Hoppers
The meeting was scheduled for Tuesday at the old church in Hatian. I arrived at the place before it started, brought bottled water and apple pie, helped them with the preparations and decided to take some photos.
The table was full of food, a very rich gathering indeed, and there was no shortage of vegetables, apparently they were thinking that some of the visitors might be vegetarians like me.
The entertainment was dancing and Lucas played guitar, some stories were also told and just a normal and friendly family gathering. I was assured that I was too skinny for the grill, so everything was fine and I felt more comfortable.
As time went on, more and more guests came to the church and joined in the party. For example, the famous cheer-leading captain Buffy and her boyfriend Bobby, who owns a music store on campus. And a lot more people were joining the dinner.
But don’t be fooled. I believe they had reasons to be friendly and not hurt those they invited. Yet the Hoppers are Hoppers, they are dangerous. Citizens, be careful.
Speech at the Table
I was expecting a speech and it happened. Lucas stood up and said a lot of words about their family and plans and then shock. It was interesting, the speech was led by Lucas and not Ain. Ain was head cook and Lucas was head diplomat? Who’s the real leader of the Hoppers now?
Then I heard Lucas say:
“We are back. Hoppers are back”
The Hoppers are back. They’re not hiding, they’re hunting. What does that mean? I froze. I couldn’t move. Now it’s coming, they’re gonna make long pigs of all their guests, including me. I’ve already seen myself on the table being butchered and cooked by Ain. I couldn’t move and I couldn’t breathe. I was dead. And my thoughts moved to my friends and family in Poland.
However, this did not happen. No, nobody got hurt. I didn’t know how to react, and a few minutes after the speech I stood up and thanked them for inviting me. I wanted to know more, though, so I asked them for a short interview. Again, another risk, but I had to do it.
They Are Back, Interview
Later, I met Lucas at the church. He was working with Lenore on the site, setting up the altar and chairs for the people who come to church to pray. And asked him some questions about their return.
Zofia: “Hello, Lucas, thanks for taking the time to see me. I have a few questions that might be of interest to our readers. Do you mind if I ask them?”
Lucas: “Yes, this is the place to ask and be answered, Zofia, no topic is too taboo and extreme in this house.”
Zofia: “Thank you. Hoppers are back. What does it means? Some citizens might be concerned about their safety. Should we be worried about our safety?”
Lucas: “Only people who are safe walking the streets alone are Hoppers.”
I had to edit his answer because it was too long and complicated. I felt like Lucas was trying to look smart. Too smart. He tried to impress me. Did he mention the violence in Hathian and the HPD and cops using violence against girls as if others were the problem and the Hoppers were better?
Zofia: “Thank you for answer. Our readers may have heard a lot of gossip about your family. Some, for example, say the Hoppers are cannibals. Tell me the truth. Please.”
Lucas: “We feast upon what we find.”
I had to edit his answer for second time. Lucas was too smart for me again. I couldn’t quite understand him, and I felt like he was trying to manipulate me. I was confused and worried because Lenore left and said she would make sure no one got in or out.
It was a shock. They admitted they could eat people? Or did I misunderstand him? I started sweating and cursing myself for not telling anyone about my plans to visit their church for an interview.
Zofia: “Aha. I see. Thank you Lucas. Please, can you send our readers a message? Something important? Something they should know about your and your family?”
Lucas: “It is simple, we are as dangerous as we need to be, but we are trying to save souls but one does not have to be gentle with the flesh to mend the spirit. Seems like someone is needing the blessings of a minister.”
Here the conversation ended and we moved on to a private discussion where I found myself in a tricky and dangerous situation. I had to be smart to handle it, and I suffered in spite of it.
In all cases, however, I promise to bring you more information about the Hoppers. Who’s the real head of the Hoppers, who’s behind them? Is the family paid by the meat producers. I won’t stop until I find out more. I’ll work for you until my body breaks. Who knows, maybe I can convince them to eat vegetarian.
And here it is, the end of our article. The message is clear, the Hoppers are back, they may be dangerous and they are not as stupid as some people might think. I advise you to be careful. (No shit – Ed)
