Hathian Police Department Honours Nurse for Heroic Act

HATHIAN, LA – The Hathian Police Department (HPD) is proud to announce that Nurse Athena Pallas will be awarded the Bravery and Courage Pin, the highest honour given to a civilian, for her selfless act of heroism on February 4th, 2024.

On that day, Officer Ziau Jua-Adachi was visiting his injured wife at Hathian General Hospital, when a deranged woman entered the ward and attempted to stab him and his wife. Nurse Pallas, who was on duty, saw the attack and quickly intervened, throwing herself in front of the knife and saving Officer Jua-Adachi’s life. She sustained serious injuries and was rushed to surgery.
