((For the best reading experience read from the BOTTOM up to the latest post. The HGH has been destroyed. Read about it in this article!))
UPDATE: 1PM HATHIAN 16/07/23 – NOW WE REMEMBER
Our new series “reflections” has opened with it’s first piece by John Childermass. You can read it here. We intend for this series to last over the next week and highlight those involved with HGH, the future of it (if we can find out from the Mayor) as well as any insight into the Yuugen and Reject terrorists who did this.
The Hathian Observer invites contributions from Citizens relating to this event. Did you take photos? Do you have a witness statement? Are you an officer willing to go on (or off) record about what you saw? Reach out to us. Reasonable out of pocket expenses and anonymity if judged required.
We now close our live blog. Stay tuned to the Observer for all your news needs.
UPDATE: 2:41PM HATHIAN 15/07/23 – HGH EXPLODES
Citizens, we are pausing our live blog here but expect to spend the next few hours investigating with witnesses, those in the ‘tent city’ and over the longer term with HPD and other contacts to try and understand what has happened.
Today HGH was destroyed and we hope all citizens survived and will find ways to be healed in the future. For now, this is the Observer signing off. May you be safe with your loved ones.
((“Dale Warrhol like Rog takes his own advice and moves behind the truck, the fire was raging and he takes a calming breath. This is by far the worst fire that Dale has attended and the sweat was not just from the heat and his bunkers especially when the sounds worsened. Dale damn near shit his pants when the tanks as feared blew, there was a deafening sound and Dale ducked down and placed his hands on his ears to try and protect his hearing. The ground shook from a good distance away and flaming debris blasted everywhere, hopefully, people took his advice. Their trucks were belted, that would be fucking expensive but that is a future Dale problem. He cried out and then there was another thunderous crash as the building crumbled inward and landed as a heap of burning rubble.”))Final post for the collapse of the HGH (HGH in CD: 2010 – 2023)
UPDATE: 2:15PM HATHIAN 15/07/23 – HGH BURNS. ARRESTS ON DISPLAY
While HGH continues to burn and appears to be slowly collapsing in on itself, we have seen a parade of prisoners come out with handcuffs. As no one is minding this reporter we’ve got some good mugshots of those involved.
In no particular order:
Mu & Chasity from the Yuugen make a nice pile. In front of them is an unknown (to this newspaper) woman (Top Left Image). An unknown to this newspaper Asian male is cuffed in front of the pile (Top right image).
Below on the bottom right is Tori, the Yuugen’s fatalistic and fatally flawed leader. Behind her, either having fallen out of the window or down the ladder (oops) is her squeeze Elben. On the bottom left, I just liked the photo. Don’t ask me why. It’s… just reminding me of something. Something about sinning to winning. Does she get a prize?
Below these are a general crowd of injured and arrested including Tabitha Adair and many others. We also believe that many of the REJECTS were caught out the back. We’re awaiting more photo evidence here.
UPDATE: 2:00PM HATHIAN 15/07/23 – FDH RETREATS. HGH CANNOT BE SAVED!
It appears over the the Hathian General Hospital. Having survived decades of the Hathian gang wars, investment challenges and other events the place has always been seen as a bastion of safety, although often at the expense of an injury in the first place.
Even with the support of Port Laveau FD it wasn’t possible to save the building.
We’re hearing that the FDH has sounded the three horns (which doesn’t mean White Walkers apparently) and instead means they are retreating leaving the fire to burn. We expect the building to fail, catastrophically and the perimeter around it before it does to expand.
RIP HGH…. What will become of healthcare in this town?
The HGH as it used to stand. What will it look like after this fire has consumed it?
UPDATE: 1:30PM HATHIAN 15/07/23 – TRIAGE CONTINUES
Over at the triage centre, Dr.LeMarchand has been as good to his word (see lower in our blog) and is treating the injured along with Emily, a nurse from HGH who was not at the main hospital with the attack happened.
We hope that all the injured can recover and those that are part of causing this have either (sadly) faced final justice today, or will face incarceration soon once healed.
UPDATE: 12:50PM HATHIAN 15/07/23 – FIRE FIGHTING CONTINUES. INJURIES TREATED.
After our update from the PD Captain the work of the FDH continues. On the other side of the HPD cordon we spotted Chief Warrhol and some of his colleagues.
Daiyu: “Chief Warrhol! Can you save HGH? is the fire under control?”
Chief Warrhol: “The fire is very severe, we are doing everything we can to minimize the loss of life, injury and trying to save the building, at this stage we don’t know if we can save it”
The Observer understands that additional units from Port Laveau FD have also been drafted into the rescue work.
It would be a tragedy if Hathian lost it’s hospital. The CU Clinic is hardly equipped to cover the work, especially after the recent loss of Clinic Director Zofia.
In addition to the work of the FDH, their ambulances and paramedics were also busy. We caught a steady stream of injured going to the field hospital.
Pictured below is one of what appears to be injured HGH workers, likely by Yuugen or Reject terrorists.
During the FDH attempts, a fuel tanker approach the scene and many (including this reporter) were scared that it was another attack. It turned out to be fuel for the FDH engines to allow them to keep running.
UPDATE: 12:20PM HATHIAN 15/07/23 – EXPLOSION & HPD STATEMENT FROM CAPTAIN HECKLER
Some kind of explosion. Daiyu here. I am covered in dust, but the hospital is still standing I think… My colleague at the rear texted a photo, a gas tanker there partially exploded or something. He says the truck can’t have been full because when it exploded it was more like a sound and pressure wave which sent people (and him) who had been near the barrier either flying back or knocked down. Some people were thrown a long way though and the rear roof over the parking space for ambulances is destroyed. People on there… who knows if they survived.
I’ve made my way slightly further back and came across Captain Heckler now outside. The Observer had seen him enter, so he does at least follow with his Officers.
“As you can see thanks to the heroic work of our officers the situation is under control.”Captain Heckler
We asked the Captain for the following detail:
Daiyu: “Under control? What’s the impact? How many hostages have been rescued? Can the building be saved? Well done to your officers but how is the body count? Low we all hope?”
Captain Heckler: “Under Control! We don’t have figures for all that just yet. But let’s just say that the HPD performed heroically and professionally today, and the scum that did this will be taught a lesson, what’s left of them anyway. No further comments at this time.”
If we get any further information from the Captain we will update our blog.
UPDATE: 12:15PM HATHIAN 15/07/23 – FIREFIGHTING ATTEMPTS START
The Observer has counted many major FDH appliances now on seen and although sporadic gunfire continues, we see a lot of arrested criminals and injured parties out on the streets.
Our reporters were able to take a view through the scene, taking cover behind FDH equipment. Our live video ((Thanks Nadir!)) is below.
UPDATE: MID-DAY HATHIAN 15/07/23 – FIRE CONTINUES
The Observer notes that fire has now taken hold of the ground floor and the 1st floor. We assume the basement is also on fire. Thick smoke is now pouring from the building and a… gas truck… (of all the things) has been left out the back, presumably by the Rejects or Yuugen.
Our photographer captured a gang member leaping from the 2nd floor onto the roof out the back. Many more of them are now on ground level and fighting with the HPD out the back. If that tanker blows though, they’re all likely dead. Our reporters will do their best with zoom cameras to get you photos, but if it’s too dangerous…
UPDATE: 11:30AM HATHIAN 15/07/23 – FIRE – HOSTAGES FREED (ALL OR SOME?)
We’ve just seen HPD free some hostages. They’ve come out the windows and seem alive. We cannot tell their condition at this time.
We think one of the hostages is Siha – her Twitter hasn’t been updated for quite a well placing her as a high chance of being one of the hostages. Is the one we’ve blurred Joy from RIZE? We’re not sure of the other two or three.
In addition, a heavy fire appears to have taken hold of the ground floor (at least) of the Hospital. Where is the FDH? Stay tuned for how this goes.
UPDATE: 11:00AM HATHIAN 15/07/23 – EXPLOSION – ESCAPEES
Our journalists on site have provided us with this photo from the rear HPD barricade. It appears that members of the Rejects or Yuugen are trying to escape from the hospital via the more lightly guarded rear roof and exit. We trust HPD will redeploy appropriate resources!
Additionally we have just heard an explosion inside the building, it shook the whole hospital. Stay with us!
UPDATE: 10:30AM HATHIAN 15/07/23 – HPD ADVANCES PAST DEATH TO DEAL IT
We understand that HPD has now entered the building and is beginning to clear the floors. There is significant gunfire and some what might be bangs of other weapons. Outside, there are less officers, but still some form of perimeter around the front.
UPDATE: 10:00AM HATHIAN 15/07/23 – BURNING BODIES AND BREACHING!
The Observer has just witnessed a horrible sight. A body on fire was thrown out of the windows of the hospital in a similar manner to those who came out yesterday. Unlike Tala and the man with the broken legs, it doesn’t look like this one is survivable.
Officers were now shouting and approaching the building. Riot shields, weapons. It was a mess, but it looked in some ways organised. Lt. Blackheart was one of those rushing in, we picked up a shouted curse or prayer in Gaelic, “Ar son na hÉireann saor in aisce!”.
We want to remind our readers that many will have families waiting for them at home. If you choose to take hostages in a hospital, you may be choosing to take yourself away from your family for a very long time, or forever.
We’ve just seen them rappel down the building. MORE IN OUR NEXT UPDATE.
UPDATE: 09:00AM HATHIAN 15/07/23 – HPD ABOUT TO ASSAULT HOSPITAL?
The Observer has noted a significant force concentration of heavily armed officers at the front of the building (and perhaps we can assume more at the rear and sides, but we haven’t been able to safely leave our position for a while). In addition to sub-machine guns and rifles there’s an array of serious looking ballistic shields which we understand are used for breaching.
More officers are attending but so far we count at least 12 in and around the front of the Hospital.
We asked Captain Heckler for a comment and he just warned Observer staff to retreat in case they caught bullets in the gunfire that was still sparely happening and we assume will get larger before long.
UPDATE: 07:45AM HATHIAN 15/07/23 – EARLY CCTV LEAKS
While we understand that the HPD killed the electricity to the hospital pretty soon after the incident was reported and it is highly likely that no images (unless from a hostage or a kidnapper themselves) will now leak, a few images saved to the cloud before all power was lost have been leaked to the Observer. We have passed them onto HPD for their tactical assessment if required.
UPDATE 07:40AM HATHIAN 15/07/23 – HPD SOURCE CONFIRMS CASUALTIES
HPD Contact: “Definitely the toughest (operation) in a while and so will be our response. We have some injured, but nothing critical.”
Good news that nothing serious so far is being reported among the police. One can only hope the hostages are also not suffering. A second HPD contact noted the following:
HPD Contact 2: “We don’t negotiate with terrorists.”
The Observer should hope not and encourages all of the gang members inside to lay down their arms and surrender to justice. We will do what we can to keep the cameras on you to ensure you receive fair process.
UPDATE: 06:30AM HATHIAN 15/07/23 – HPD SNIPERS PICTURED ON ROOF
As daylight started to creep into Hathian, our reporters captured HPD Captain Heckler moving into a rooftop sniper ‘nest’ (apparently that’s the proper term according to my HPD contact). Our zoom lens ‘shots’ aren’t as deadly as Heckler’s rifle look.
UPDATE: 05:30AM HATHIAN 15/07/23 – INTERVIEWS WITH THE PORNSTAR AND THE PROFESSIONAL
Our reporters are on the streets interviewing bystanders and those connected to the ongoing incident. We first met with Dr. Simon LeMarchand who recently featured in our paper for potential serious crimes. Never-the-less the doctor did not appear at all like this reporter imagined and so, considering no one was rushing to arrest him, we caught his view on a few things.
Daiyu: “Doctor LeMarchand, I’m assuming recently released from care, what is your take on this situation at the place you work?”
Dr. LeMarchand: “Yes. I am Doctor Simon LeMarchand. And I worked here for years. I am sad to see the old place so mistreated. I do hope everything is resolved soon”
Daiyu: “Thank you Doctor LeMarchand. Can you tell me during your career if there was ever as much of a threat to HGH as this before and perhaps you have some tips for HPD you’d like to give as they seek to presumably move this to a close? No secret back doors to the hospital right?”
Dr. LeMarchand: “I had not been here in the service of Hathian General for as long as some, a mere four years. Most of this time it was business as usual. The odd invasion by one or two gang members, usually trying to get at other gang members in our care. But never anything on this scale. No…the only major threat to the town I can recall was the Noelavirus back in 2020. It was a derivative of a hemorraghic fever in a strain of influenza. Particularly lethal and highly contagious. Unfortunately, there are no other entrances to the hospital. It is a fortress. They chose the right building to occupy. There is only one way they will get the gangs to relinquish the building. Either they negotiate with them. Or they force them out.”
We suspect the Dr. will help over at the Field Hospital, assuming he is fit to work and practice. Our next interviewee was the famous Hathian Porn Actress Lauri Mayfair.
Lauri: “See that purple house with the green door that has NO ENTRY scrawled on it? That’s -my- house. The cops broke into it yesterday during the shooting, Two of them. They busted my door, ran upstairs, right through my bedroom and up into the loft’s fire escape to start shooting at the goons across the street. -And- when one of the cops got shot, the other one threw a smoke grenade into my loft so he could drag the other cop out of the way while under fire!”
Daiyu: “Well, that’s pretty amazing, but I bet you were scared? You sound more angry now though! How did you feel at the time and what if anything else did you see? Who got injured, do you know?”
Lauri: “I think it’s a bloody disgrace! A severe case of police over-reach. Storming into my house without a warrant, not even so much as a knock on the door or a thank you or whatever. Officer Baptiste, I think it was, that bashed my door in. With a riot shield! And Officer Vélez was the one that got shot on my fire escape. I didn’t know what the hell was going on. I thought it was some goons or something! Just charging through my house like that! I put that NO ENTRY scrawl on my door to keep them out. I just want to say that house 203 on Battle Street is -not- a shooting gallery for the HPD! Us citizens have rights, y’know? Cops can’t just invade peoples homes and just exploit them for whatever! They could have gone over to the fire station or something. Or, y’know, -asked- first! I have expensive stuff in that loft! I’m going to be talking to my layers and I’ll be giving them a bill come Monday!”
“I could’ve been shot! I mean, the goons were firing back at the cops, bullets could’ve been flying through windows and all sorts, with me in the bedroom in nothing but my knickers!”Lauri
This confirms our view that it was officer Vélez who got injured earlier during the siege (perhaps others did as well).
UPDATE 02:00AM HATHIAN 15/07/23 – SOCIAL MEDIA REVIEW ‘THE NIGHT’S WATCH’
It’s been less than 24hrs since Hathian became aware that terrorists from the Yuugen and the Rejects, until previously considered ‘just’ gangs had taken over the Hathian General Hospital, taken hostages and engaged in a deadly shooting match with a heavily reinforced and armed Hathian Police Department.
The Observer, through our reporters has tried to stay at the scene, despite the danger, to keep you up-to-date. During the night there was some lull in activities so we’ve been reviewing social media and other avenues to bring together some fact checking.
- Q: WHO IS BEHIND THE ATTACKS?
- A: The YUUGEN have claimed responsibility. Rejects members may also have been pictured and their involvement is suggested (and supported by previous articles indicating a tie-up between them)
- EVIDENCE: Yuugen tweet one and tweet two. Previous article one. Shouting from the building that sounded like Paige from the Rejects as someone jumped.
“I AINT GOING ANYWHERE JULIAN, YOU GOTTA LEARN YOUR LESSON”Possibly Paige Laveau – from the Reject Gang
- Q: HAS ANYONE BEEN TAKEN HOSTAGE?
- A: The Yuugen have confirmed they have taken hostages (see image above). In addition some Hathian Citizens have reported loved ones missing, or being recognised in Yuugen material. The Yuugen have also used hostages as human barricades against the windows.
- EVIDENCE: See image above, also social media posts one (reproduced below). Others are reported missing but do not want to be named (yet) in order to allow HPD hostage negotiation to proceed.
- Q: WHAT ABOUT INJURIES?
- A: There have been both officer injuries and civilian injuries. At least one hostage was pushed out of the hospital on a bed. Another hostage jumped to avoid being taken prisoner and suffered severe injuries. HPD will not confirm specific officer injuries at this time, but at least one officer Vélez was seen being taken to the field hospital by our reporters.
- EVIDENCE: See our photo in this article of a woman identified as Tala Coletti being thrown out of the window. In addition, see our photos below of a man who jumped and photos (sensitively taken) at the Field Hospital of an injured party
“I’m a hostage don’t shoot! Fucking whores pray your clown god I’m not going to die today because I’m going find you, I’m going **** you to death, your sister and other blond whore, what was her name…Sophia?”A jumping man who the Observer was not able to identify yet ((Jax Blakewell))
- Q: ANY STATEMENT FROM HPD?
- A: See below
“The situation is developing, I am not going to speak about casualties at the moment, we will release those figures when this tragic and mislead incident comes to an end. It should show the people of this town that even a place where they go to receive medical attention is a target for these corrupt individuals, and that the HPD is the only solution to quell the violence in this town.”HPD Captain Julian Heckler
UPDATE 4.30PM HATHIAN 14/07/23 – FIELD HOSPITAL FILLS UP!
A number of officers and civilians have been taken to the field hospital setup on the Strip Mall down past the Grind. While the cark park is more used to cops doing donuts outside the donut store it is now full of first responders doing their best to triage and save lives. An impromptu concert blocked a street nearby for a while, but we understand the ambulances ferrying wounded were able to take another route. Rather typical of Hathian to party while a large scale terrorism event is ongoing!
The lady in pink, identified on Twitter as Tala has been moved there. The Observer has also received confirmation that one of the hostages inside is Joy. If you know a loved one missing or seen here, let us know so we can draw HPDs attention to them and let people know they’re missed!
UPDATE 3PM Hathian 14/07/23 – FLYING WOMAN!
Gunfire continues to reign down from the roof of the hospital and from what appear to be sniper nests the HPD have built on the apartment buildings nearby.
That’s not the only thing reigning down… another bed, this time with a woman on it came out of the window and it’s only by a miracle it didn’t land the wrong way up, crushing her. Surrounded by flames, gunfire and rubble, we don’t yet know if she is alive.
In addition to flying women, HPD reinforcements and a line of ambulances have arrived. We understand a field Hospital has been setup and expect to cover it in our next update!
UPDATE 2PM Hathian 14/07/23: – FIRE!
Criminals on the roof of the building threw a bed down to the street! Braving gunfire the Chief of the FDH sprinted in with a hose. He was able to put the fire out without sustaining injury as far as we could tell!
Original Article: Today The Gangs Stabbed The Entire Town In The Back
Overnight, gangs of thugs took over Hathian General Hospital and held staff and patients hostage. They blocked all entrances with vans and barricades and used patients tied to beds on the large panoramic windows as shields!
The neighbourhood was immediately cordoned off by local police and SWAT under the leadership of experienced Captain Julian Heckler (Good for something – Ed). They took control of the perimeter and immediately began negotiations. Yes, the police acted a bit harshly but we understand that it was necessary to prevent gawkers from getting shot!
But the first phase of negotiations was marred by a terrible event. Driven by the bandits (presumably Rejects or Yuugen) or fleeing from them, a man decided that it was better to try his luck and jump from the floor than to remain at the mercy of the villains. He survived but suffered several severe fractures.
Even in their worst hours, the townspeople show their best qualities. Despite the great risk, Officer Velez and Baptiste were able to pull the victim out and give him first aid.
At this time, The Observer is suggesting (along with HPD) that residents in the surrounding areas stay away from the hospital. If you have medical training, you can help at the general assembly point at the Strip Mall’s parking lot. In addition, the CU Clinic which remains open is looking for help. If you can donate blood, work on the staff or otherwise support please attend the Clinic ((Contact Sarah for details))
You can also help the officers on duty by bringing them water and hot food. Only together will we overcome this terrible episode. No mercy for the terrorists.
The Observer expects to cover this ongoing event further and seeks eyewitness interviews from those involved in the incident on all sides. If you have information contact John, Daiyu or another one of our reporters!
The feelings and sentiments in this article reflect those of the author (and in many cases we hope the good people of this town). The Hathian Observer stands against terrorists an gang violence as well as all forms of oppression against civilians in this town, including from the HPD – Daiyu Tang
