NEWs Reporter on the Block
Beyond the sidewalk blood stains, a big heart beats inside a city that charms as much as it threatens. HATHIAN. Small city, big stories. Big crime – small community. People battling on – together. Where I come from, the boomers would call them Battlers. Sure enough, heading down Battle street where the north and south winds meet, so to speak, the beat soars up and out and reaches the world.
I myself did not grow up around such intensity but I sure did hear about Hathian all the way from the land of Oz… how? That’s a story for another time… you may think you’re hidden out here, but not everywhere.
So sure, we have our stories in ol’ Melbourne town, Australia and a percentage of those will make you grimace, but next to Hathian, Melbourne seems a tad ‘Pleasantville’. I stayed in London for a spell and even that felt fairly calm in comparison. Not to say that Hathian is not calm. I have only been in a few days, but based on my observations thus far, this city is certainly not void of good vibes.
I have watched the health care workers tirelessly work around the clock in what incredibly seems like one of the best kept systems this side of the globe. (Ed: Really? I mean… they work hard… but…) I have observed small businesses open up to the public day in day out, supporting this economy from the ground up. I am sure that there are more examples that I am yet to discover.
