Dear Roleplayer, let’s make in this article (( )) mean IC this time, just to confuse matters ((Dear Readers!))… Confused already? Let’s get back to Christmas… ((Hail Santa! – Daiyu))
The Crackden Community celebrated the end of the year in sumptuous style at the community Christmas event hosted by Sim Owner Nadir and his wife Audrina. With music and decoration by Poppy and the wider administrative team it was a party with prizes, costumes and a whole lot of being a bit different.
I get the privilege of writing this little note and I wanted to say that for some people, some who sadly won’t likely read this, it’s been a tough year. Whether through personal circumstances such as health, bad weather and storms or relationships, some of you have had it bad. I’m also aware that for some of you in roleplay there has been upset, mistakes and disappointments. It is hard for any one person to understand all the nuances and dimensions of the human feelings we get via our characters and no one can conclude on your behalf what is ‘right’ / ‘wrong’ or just ‘meh’ or… ((Hail Santa!!! Gothmas…. xxx)) Roleplay creates, facilitates and sometimes negatively influences (although mostly without any intent to do so) ourselves and I wouldn’t presume to tell you more than ‘Be your Best’ and try and reflect whether you always are (and are with people who make you feel good the other way!).
Anyway, I hope that when you push away your Secret Lab chair or stretch out of your comfy bed to gather with family and friends in real life, or step away from Second Life to be with your online friends to goof about over Jack-in-the-box games or whatever, that you manage to recharge, refresh and come back wanting to start again if you need, or build on what you have. Sometimes it’s too easy to destroy what ‘another’ builds or creates in SL. Poorly chosen words, suspicions and more lead to outcomes that in real life over wine or bowling or pottery or however you choose to spend your time would be less likely.
We’re here, I hope, to always try and build a brick or two upwards and I’d like to hope everyone can look back and agree there were more levels built than taken away and that they individually contributed to that. Roleplay and real life are not like Tetris, our job is to collaborate and fill the gaps so that we can all experience things we might not be able to elsewise. In our crazy version of Tetris, we all win when we fill the tower with as few gaps as possible, but without knocking it all down. Jenga if you like, but with each new roleplayer adding a new brick to the tower with the aim to make it impossibly tall (and beautiful).
During 2024, some have left our community whether through changing characters or leaving for new pastures or real life and these sometimes leave holes in our stories and can bleed into real life, creating feelings from roleplay into our lives. I want to take this chance to remind everyone that they matter and that while not everything can work out the way we all wish, that you ((Even you Tori and Maja and… well not Heckler!)) deserve a Happy Christmas, and a fantastic new year.

Best Costume
The winning costume in the view of this editor was Tabitha and Oliver who went for non-traditional SL avatars with matching design and really hit that holiday spirit. Icing pasties and navel piercing rounded off that slightly SL vibe of sultry/sexy.
Best Booty
((I wanna win!!!)) Judging based on past events I might expect Poppy to take this one, butt this time once the dancing rotated, it has to be said that there could only be one!
Least Likely to Have Read the Briefing
Normally one for the police in Hathian, it was never-the-less the case that James here for sure missed the Christmas memo, although… ((Hot in a suit! – Daiyu)) top marks for style… also apologies, normally James has crisper hair than this… Second Life textures and all that!
Most Non-Survivable Costume
Whether one considers this from an IC perspective where we know Camden has probably thought about making Christmas Tree decorations from people or OOC, this was a case of ‘fragile’ (and an amazing costume!) from Mollie!
Disney Princess Corruption Kink
You wouldn’t want to let this one go and if she was Frozen to you, well that might be one of your kinks. No one is judging. What a costume from Athena!
Most Likely to have Daiyu give a Thumbs up Award!
((Hail Santa!)) Exactly! This one put the Gothmas Cheer (or may be no cheer) into the party, while still being in theme… Well done Bryce!
Best Attempt at Mixing Hathian Gangs
This one has to go to Tori and Elben who were both on form in costumes, but also being that Tori was dressed as the actual ‘Bone Daddy’ gave a completely kinky twist to the King Street Bone Daddies Yuugen thing. At least in my ((and mine!)) kink head. Well done for also going out of normal avatar Tori!
The “I run a CyberFuture & Urban SIM – Fuck Choosing” Award
Who said you can’t mix Christmas Style with a bit of Cyborg Eyeware and implants? Yes, sim owner Nadir showed up to remind us that it’s not just Crack Den that he enjoys. As a photographer, I think Loz’s booty in the background just finishes this perfectly.
The Representing CU Sorority Award
When you think of CU I am sure Buffy expects you to think of Academic prowess, halls of learning and more. Sometimes ((I have experience! – Daiyu)) I think more about swimming pool showers, naked parades and a whole lot of sin. In any case, well done Okiku for this award.
The Playing to Type Award
I think if Maja’s typist would wish to write this then they might have a few things to say to illustrate how our winner Corbin can link back to articles and IC shenanigans. Either way, I just feel… this is Corbin! Apologies!
The I’m Cute and Christmas Ready but Bad Things Keep Happening Award
I hear things ((But don’t see them except on Twitter – Daiyu)) about this one. Keep up the good work giving people stories of all sorts and flavours. Lovely costume as well!
