Being pregnant in Hathian is the pits. It is nothing short of terrifying. It isn’t just hard, it’s a whole damn nightmare. From the social stink-eye to the half-assed healthcare, this town’s got no love for expectant mothers.

As soon as folks know you’re carrying, you’re treated like you’ve done something wrong. People will accuse you of lying about birth control like you’re some kind of schemer. Pregnant women in Hathian don’t get smiles or congratulations, they get side-eyes and sneers. It’s like you’ve got a scarlet letter stitched on your belly.

Pregnant? Guess what? You’re not allowed to do anything. Even regular stuff like hanging out, gets yanked off the table. Sure, there are things pregnant women shouldn’t do for health’s sake, but Hathian takes it too damn far. It’s like the moment you’re knocked up, you’re a porcelain doll nobody’s allowed to touch and don’t worry, everyone will remind you, “You’re pregnant,” like you forgot.

Let’s talk about healthcare (or lack of it). Get hit by a car? Snap a bone? Screaming for some relief? Tough luck. Your pain doesn’t matter much, especially if you’re carrying. They care more about the baby inside you than they do about you.

Hathian General Hospital’s a joke, with the strikes and doctors who think they’re gods. Me and my pregnancy have been directly threatened by an incarcerated HGH doctor. During one of my appointments, a doctor didn’t even let me see the screen during my own sonogram. Imagine sitting there, desperately wanting to see your babies, and being completely shut out. Meanwhile, the so-called father had a full view. That wasn’t just upsetting, it was heart-breaking. These kinds of dismissive moments stick with you, you know?

Men around here? Don’t even get me started. They act like they’re running the show. First, they’ll bully you into keeping the baby early on, then turn around at 22 weeks, when things get real messy and demand you terminate. All because you’re having a rough day or they’re “done” dealing with it. It’s not partnership, it’s control, plain and simple.

Hathian’s never been kind to women but for pregnant women? It’s downright hostile. They tear you down when you need lifting up the most. It isn’t right. Having a kid should be a personal choice, not a public battleground where everyone else thinks they get a say.

Pregnant women in Hathian deserve better respect, better care, and better treatment all around. Until this town cleans up its act, it’ll stay a miserable place for anyone bringing new life into the world.
