It was just a little over a week before Christmas, and love was in the air! Love … and drama.
The Blue Wag Bistro on the Columtreal University campus held its Under the Mistletoe blind date event, hosted by Mariana dos Santo, December 16 at 3 pm. Participants were assigned partners randomly. Shirim Bianchi was paired with Keyate Marshall, and Lilth Mefusula was paired with Leonardo di Montezemolo. But alas, poor Jordan Russo! His date, an unidentified girl described by Mariana as “a bit shy,” disappeared after registering, effectively standing him up!
Shirim and Keyate seemed to click, but Jordan, who’s been separated from his wife for more than a year now after she left him and filed for divorce, sat alone, despondent, while the other couples began to enjoy their dates. It seemed the blind date event would be just another in a string of disappointments for him.
However, fate had a surprise in store that evening. Lilith and Leonardo, as it happened, were not such a good match. A short while into their date, Lilith declared, “We are not in the same song, never mind harmony!” She thus summarily dismissed her would-be partner, who departed hastily.
Leonardo’s bane was to be Jordan’s boon. Now alone as well, Lilith presently moved to join him, and the pair proved far more compatible —so compatible, in fact, that even after Shirim and Keyate had left, this final lovebird duo was still whiling away the evening together! Finally, about two hours after the event had begun, the two departed, still together, disappearing into the night as the event drew to a close.
