HPD: “Anyone Not A Cop Is A Criminal”

If you can't beat them in the ring, come after them outside?

In our previous article on the Fight Night this newspaper concluded with a warning to citizens in Hathian about the emergence of a ‘super-gang’, combining the Rejects, The King Street and the Yuugen, (The ‘Yuu-Re-Bone’ or similar). This view requires acceptance that various pieces of intel are sufficient to support that and importantly that such a prospect is rather scary. This newspaper would have (and still does) advise extreme caution around any of the Hathian gangs whether they are all original, or a ‘swarm’.

But this article isn’t about them. It’s about the Hathian Police Department waterboarding someone in the street. It’s about the HPD showing a side that is normally hidden away. A side that makes them, very much like the gangs you have heard us warn you about. How?

Waterboarding someone in the fucking street and laughing about it to the camera. You can view the video footage here.

HPD ‘Back’: Statement Of Intent

“Welcome to Operation Rolling Thunder!! The Hathian Police Department is back, and we don’t give a fuck no more, anyone not a cop, is a criminal or soon to be criminal and will be treated as such, if you want on our good side, bring us information on the Yuugen gang members, and you will get a get out of jail and asswhooping card to sue to avoid our brutality

“Officer” Victoria Vélez

Our witness who recorded the incident on their mobile phone and submitted it to the Observer was able to capture the police interaction from when a civilian, identified as Team Pride member Zeek Rookswood was down and out on the concrete. Zeek, who as the video started, was seen as not resisting, was having his head bashed by a baton deployed by an officer, later identified as an Officer ‘de Rolo’. This newspapers wonders (and would be saddened if true) if he is related to the other ‘de Rolo’ family members such as Jayda who have been nothing but kind to our staff.

Officer Rolo using his baton to injure an already unresisting Zeek

“Steal teeth from innocent people, get your own teeth stolen”

“Officer” de Rolo

This newspaper is not associated or affiliated with any of the gangs in Hathian but through both our witness and subsequent investigation it does appear that the retrieval of teeth from unsuspecting victims is a hallmark of the King Street (and probably other gangs from time to time if the mood takes them). This therefore throws Zeek’s carefully ‘innocent’ look in our previous articles into the trash. Now, this doesn’t in the view of this paper excuse mindless violence by those charged with the law. If there is a case against Zeek for hurting others then there are proper channels for that, except that HPD in this instance (and many others) are choosing not to enforce proper channels. This newspaper would remind you that we did say “but we would suggest that if they weren’t gang prospects before this fight, they might well be now”. It seems that has now (for Zeek at least) been proven to come to pass as a prospect. This doesn’t justify violence against his person from the law and it doesn’t give justice to any victims he might have created himself. Restorative justice is not delivered through Officer Vélez and her jackboot.

“See this. Fucking typical… Police brutality of Hathian. Papers were right!”

Zeek

But back to HPD.

With Vélez, Rolo and now two other officers who the paper doesn’t know by name in attendance, Zeek was well and truly cornered and it was now that Vélez instructed the waterboarding of the man as they tried to get details of Yuugen members.

This paper has no issue with the HPD going after Yuugen. But this shortcutting of proper police work and this abusing of those they wish to question as well as the unrealiability of information obtained by torture shows an out of control approach to policing that can only be addressed from the top. But the fish rots from the head down and with Vélez on the streets mere days after illegally detaining our editor (after tasering her for asking a question) it must be said that discipline is either weak, or Vélez’s shouted statement about HPD being “back” is supported from the top down.

Our witness watched as they waterboarded, kicked, spat on and used cigarettes to torture Zeek.

“Batons out, break both of his fucking legs!”

“Officer” Vélez after Zeek managed to land a lucky kick as he was being waterboarded

Readers, this is horrendous. In public and on camera: illegal torture and brutality. And do you know what is worse reader? They are disrespecting Hathian. Vélez even gave our witness the ‘rhumbs up’ as she was brutalising Zeek. She is laughing at this town, thinking it cannot protect itself from bullies.

A Question For Hathian

The Observer wishes to ask you, Hathian Citizen a simple question…

Hathian, are you weak?

From our experience as your eyes and ears as we’ve recorded you for 15 years you are not. This newspaper doesn’t think Officer Vélez (2023 – ?) knows that. Someone will surely inform her.
