BLACK BOTTOM – What was supposed to be a night of romance and dancing quickly turned tragic at the Valentine’s Day Ball at Columtreal University on Saturday night. While couples were dancing the night away under a canopy of fresh flowers, two assailants described only as ‘wearing bunny masks’ set the canopy alight. As the tent burned around them, the students fled out onto the street for safety. No injuries were reported, but an unrelated fight happened just moments afterward. The police aren’t releasing any more information at this time.
So questions remain: what was the reason behind this crime? Was it heated protest against one of the most commercialized holidays? Or perhaps it was love scorned and out for revenge? Whatever the reason, these young college students were left with a night they soon won’t forget.
