A recall on cranberry and pumpkin products sold under the BGE Foods brand and distributed by GIHN Freight has been issued by the Clam on Berthier St. The convenience store also offers a 50% discount off all toilet paper products while supplies last.

Clam manager, Acacius Zero, issued a statement.

“We offer up our sincere apologies to all who may have been affected by this,” said Zero. “We are in talks with both product suppliers to ensure something like this never happens again.”

Hathian General Hospital noticed an uptick in food poisoning cases. Most common symptoms include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and stomach cramps. Most patients coming reported they consumed foods from the Clam around Thanksgiving; primarily cranberry and pumpkin based products.

Hathian General Hospital encourages anyone suffering from food poisoning to check into their local healthcare provider.

“If you are showing symptoms, please don’t hesitate to come in and get checked out. If you choose to try to beat this on your own, remember to hydrate and get plenty of rest.”

Local health inspectors are looking into further causes.
