By: Olympia Lowell-Forbes
This article aims to partly tell the story of my part in what around Columtreal University Campus has been dubbed “The Great Sorority Divorce”, and while I only speak for myself, I know several of my Pi Delta Alpha sisters feel the same way.
Taking a step back to explain who I am, and where I am coming from, to give context to the critiques I will raise alter in this article.
The Forbes Family Name

As you have likely already noticed in the credits to this article, my name is Olympia Lowell-Forbes, and I’m the great-great-granddaughter of B.C Forbes – the founder of Forbes Magazine. It doesn’t get any more ‘Old Money’ than that, even if my great-grandfather, the second son of B.C Forbes, Gordon split off form the family and traveling to Tyler, East Texas (My hometown) to pursue a leading role in its oil industry. Marrying into a pwoerful family there, Gorden converted to Southern Baptism, and created a new branch of the family that is no longer associated with Forbes Magazine, but still retain its name.
Here, generations later I am, a 19 year old student at CU majoring in business and law. If there is something I have come to learn, it is that in a world of crypto wealth a Silicon Valley tech oligarchies, ‘Old Money’ is no longer a sustainable economic plan. It has become time to yet again, like my great-grandfather Gorden did, break off and modernize old money, into self-made money.
This realization was not one that arrived through Higher Learning on its own merits, but through the expedition of my fathers will of cutting me off form the family wealth due to me launching a podcast that focused on the every day situations of my life, for better and for worse. My mother told me this when the scandal of trying to modernize:
“People should know your name because your family built the church, not because they watched your videos.”.
Self-Made Money

In a world where religion and personal beliefs systems become increasingly more irrelevant, and where individuality is on the rise, my mother could not be any more wrong. This is exactly the direction I need to go, and is exactly the way people get to know me. Through podcasting, journalism, SoMe content creation and the reality TV show I am currently in the process of filming, along with other members of the student body.
This requires me to build a following, that will unlock SoMe monetization and Brand Deals, which is currently my primary source of income, and will be expanded on in the future. This also requires a solid following, to be a role model and an influencer, and it is here that the first schism of the “Great Sorority Divorce” was founded.
Because, while I was a founding member of Sigma Theta Noir sorority back in late 2024, it has now become something completely different under the guidance, or one could be tempted to call it ‘misguidance’ of it’s president, Jizzabelle Lovejoy.
The average Observer reader will be no stranger to the articles of Jizzablle, the ongoings in Sigma Theta Noir, or the kind of parties they throw. The latest being nothing short of a BDSM horror show. Now, if I was trying to negatively influence teens in becoming teen moms, surely I would have stayed, but the unprotected sex orgies with strangers? Not really the ideal career path for me.
I did not participate in the party, or the other parties of similar themes. At the Lingerie Valentines party, i didn’t wear lingerie. If the great Sorority Divorce is to be blamed on anyone, its Jizzabelle herself for failing to realize, that we were several girls that did not wish to be associated with her slut rep.
“but you’re a Sigma sister, I just thought..” A common phrase from a guy I just rejected when he tried to hit on me, thinking I was a certain thing, and goes to underline my point.
One thing is the promiscuous behaviour, another is the whole wardrobe that follows it. I don’t wear lingerie in public, nor do I believe that outfits should reveal any, unless the context is just right. It could be for a photoshoot or Brand deal, but it would be a rare occasion, not the default.
Then we also differ on ideals for women. Unlike the sisters still remaining in Sigma Theta Noir, I haven’t internalized misogyny. I don’t behave in ways, that signals to men they can treat me without respect, quite the opposite. This is not because I am necessarily better, but at least I know I’m not worth less.
Putting all these factors together, you have differing ideals, behaviour and opinion of self worth, on top of the limitation Sigma Theta Noir posed on my new found career of being a good influence on others.
Pi Delta Alpha on the other hand, does not only, not hold me back, they have like minded values, wealth levels and ambitions for the future. While some may call us shallow because we’ve picked appearance management as a virtue, we are no longer boggled down by the reputation of others, least of all, the person in charge meant to have our best interests at heart, not just her own.
The Dairy Queen

You see, I have come to believe that Jizzabelle Lovejoy, is a basket case unlike any other. If her chosen name does not reflect that on its own, keep reading.
Jizzzabelle’s background story is one that illicit empathy, it’s a story so tragic you have no other choice than to show public support and sympathy for her fate, and say stuff like that you wouldn’t wish that on your worst enemy. Why? Because if you don’t, you are endangering her self image and perception, and all her little goons will be dispatched to tear you down.
As an open critic, lord knows I have to deal with them. Other students fearing the social coin sequencing of telling her to put a sock in it already. Fearing her wrath if they tell her to stop turning every class at CU into a Epstein Spin off featuring Jizzabelle Lovejopy in the lead role.
If you so much as dare think the thought “Okay, it happened, get therapy and get over it already” you will find yourself on the Sigma Theta party ban list faster than freshman changing majors.
To come full circle and going back to Old vs. New money, that is what the split represents. While members of both come from inherited money, Sigma Theta Noir has no contingency in place to introduce new money. Again Jizzabelle Lovejoy is an excellent example of this. She often claims that Sigma Theta Noir gave her a full ride. She is spending money, but does nothing to find new revenue streams to replace it. It is unsustainable and complacent.
In Pi Delta Alpha however, we work hard on the influencer paths. It may lead to individual wealth growth more than the sorority as a whole, but we don’t dwell on what’s inherited. We create, get creative and strive for self-made money.

TLDR
The values and the morals of average Sigma Theta Noir members and my own, differs vastly, so I sought refuge in Pi Delta Alpha Sorority, that is much more aligned with my own values, and it appears as if others did too.
