When the Observer published two grainy CCTV stills linked to an apparent murder near Batterie Beach, the aim was simple: identify the victim, identify the room, and identify the distinctive tattoo visible on one of the figures (and yes, it was their arse, so come on Hathian… surely someone’s seen it). At the time, HPD were investigating, but there were no confirmed witnesses, motive, or suspects publicly named. Subsequently HPD forced the Observer to disclose the material we had obtained, having obtained a court-order (and duct tape).
In the days since, two developments have emerged that may be connected to the case. One is a letter dropped into the Observer’s mailbox. The other comes from eyewitness accounts of a chaotic arrest witnessed in the downtown area, which several sources believe may be linked to the same incident. You will recall that one CCTV image showed two individuals alongside the victim (one was nearly hidden, but that’s why I peer at naked people closely. More limbs means more people…).
According to multiple observers, the HPD moved on a woman identified as Rea, though officers at the scene would not confirm whether she was the tattooed figure seen in the original stills or whether that distinction even matters at this stage (though ‘nice bum‘ was mentioned in passing).
Update 1: The Anonymous (Weird) Note
The first development arrived quietly.
Earlier this week, an anonymous note was left in the Observer’s mailbox alleging that Liliana Scarlet Rose kidnapped and likely drugged the victim shown in the CCTV stills. The note claims the writer personally witnessed the incident, stating that Scarlet removed the victim from a shop while visibly struggling to carry her, initially giving the impression of a medical emergency.
“I saw Liliana Scarlet Rose aka Scarlet Rose, kidnap and drug her victim… she seemed to have struggled carrying her out that day. At first I thought she was taking her to the hospital…”
Letter sent to Observer
The tone then shifts, accusing Scarlet of hiding “behind that false innocence like a shroud” to draw people into “her own wicked game.”
Guess who signed the note (and included a thumb print for presumably identification purposes)?
LSR
And they say that the criminals here are smart. Or that those trying to frame people are smart. This is just… almost comical. Either it’s some kinda setup framing Scarlet, or LSR is Liliana Scarlet Rose and is in effect telling on herself in the hope of… what? Redemption? Apologies? Or could it be… transfer of blame? Moving onto that…
Update 2: Eyewitness Account of Arrest
The second development is less subtle and harder to ignore in light of the letter. On the same day the note was received, witnesses contacted the Observer describing a chaotic police incident in the downtown area that culminated in the arrest of a woman identified as Rea.
According to bystanders, the incident began with confusion around a marked HPD patrol vehicle that rapidly escalated into a full police response. Several civilians were seen entering the cruiser, drawing attention from nearby pedestrians and business owners. The Observer expects to carry a seperate news story on this chain of events as it involves local K-Pop cosplay legend ‘Caisen’ and some of his own…

But in short readers, what appears to have happened to Rea is that an officer identified Rea as a homicide suspect and ordering her to surrender. She was seen placing a weapon on the ground and complying before being handcuffed and taken presumably to HPD.
Multiple officers declined to comment when approached by the Observer. One, speaking off the record, said only that “this wasn’t random,” while another confirmed that “an arrest was made” and that questioning was ongoing. One of them told about a yoga camp they recommended for me. Sigh.
Taken together, the timing is difficult to ignore. HPD appears to have moved decisively (or via luck) on Rea, while the written note came to the Observer after the arrest was made and appears to redirect blame toward Scarlet Rose with a signature that is either spectacularly careless, awful attempts at framing or deliberately theatrical.
A Clumsy Shift, Not a Clever One
Let me put my chips down here dear readers. There were two criminals. They were in love, (or dating, or in a gang together). One is simply covering for the other, or blaming the other. If LSR is the author, then the HPD arrest of Rea means she is still free and wants to trade. If LSR didn’t write the note, then someone is trying to trade Rea out of jail in exchange for redirecting HPD. Either way, perhaps the same outcome.
As a betting woman, I’d suggest that the thumb print will match LSR and that in the end, despite the crazy note, the woman is in some kind of tryst or partnership with Rea. Love makes you do weird things. Right?
What will the HPD do now, or perhaps the case has already moved ahead? Either way. Someone send proof. Lower back tattoos will only partially suffice.
