It was just another day in Hathian when outside the Clam as I walked to my office I stumbled across a scene that feels like it was only going to go one way (the Hathian way) – that is, either some women trying to beat up a HPD officer were gonna get shot, or one HPD officer was heading to the Slab or somewhere like it for auction.
I wasn’t sure whether to bet on black or red (literally in the case of one of the women’s hair) but once another HPD officer arrived on the scene (pictured below) it was a case of two women arrested and beaten somewhat and then one lady who was actually apparently trying to see me, getting arrested for trying to steal handcuffs or something. It was pretty crazy. But that’s Hathian.
The Hathian Observer assumes that one or more of those involved works at the Clam as they asked for footage I shot to be given to Charlie Bundy who seems to have migrated from the Pawn Shop (suspiciously before the RICO raid maybe!?) to the Clam. The Observer has, in the interests of promoting harmony provided the photos and video taken from the scene so that the Clam’s owner can decide how best to proceed.
A Passionate Cry
During the confrontation one of the women, perhaps seeing the cameras of the Observer was recorded as saying:
“You getting all this? We were just minding our own business, and this power tripping cop decided to harass us, put his hands on us, and now he’s throwing insults like we’re beneath him. You heard him talking down on where I work, calling us ‘nagging women,’ acting like he’s some kind of god around here. Guess that badge means you can do whatever the fuck you want, huh? You steal, cheat, and harass people in the street, but we’re the problem? You heard him, right?”
And from the perspective of this reporter, while the conduct of the second officer seemed reasonable considering the circumstances in which her arrived, the first officer, did appear at one point to try and choke out one of the women with no regard to her life. We witnessed no weapons at the scene so the use of this level of force seemed somewhat suspect and has been raised with the HPD Inspector.
