Press Release – 13th February 2024 –
At 8th of February, 09:00 hours, Hathian Police Department strike team, led by Detective Inspector K. N. M. O’Neil arrived at theHathian Pawn Shop. Our purpose was to execute a search warrant in connection with the recent explosion and subsequent fire that caused massive property damage, one fatality and two firefighters sustaining injuries at the Hathian Fire Department (‘FDH’).
Several members of organized crime group known as ‘Vipers’ were encountered at the scene – Our brave officers subdued the unlawful resistance and arrested five members of Vipers before proceeding to search the property.
A brick of “Semtex” brand explosives – Similar to remains of explosives detonating at FD earlier by analysis were discovered, along with a small amount of narcotics, 4 shotguns which matched the remains of firearms recovered from destroyed vehicle and sizable amount of cash.
Our investigation of the explosion at the FDH has determined it to be the result of an accident instead of a planned and coordinated attack against the FDH. This rules out outlandish rumours in the city (and newspapers) which covered domestic terrorism among other guesswork.
The Hathian Pawn Shop’s property, both legal and illicit assets were seized under RICO act, given the evidence of the business being used as front to disguise illegal activities of organized crime. This was not only an important milestone in ongoing war against the various criminal collectives operating in the city, but also a warning to these groups and their associates – We’re coming for your ill gotten gains and take them away, using RICO and asset forfeiture acts. That is right. I will take your car, your house, your business, your illicit profits. I will ensure that crime no longer pays in this city.
Krystal N. M. O’Neil Detective Inspector, 40264
