The directors of the Hathian Museum & Galleries have provided an entertainment space for all of Hathian. We display photographs of events from our city, hold exhibitions themed to our dear businesses and groups within Hathian and Laveau and provide a quiet space where those who wish to go on a date, admire art or just see things from a different perspective can congregate.
With a low entry fee there is an implicit understanding that as an art-lover myself would hope even the crassest would get, which is that art is not actually free. The museum subsidises itself with all the trappings of a business (such as a coffee shop, cinema and gift shop) but still requires donations from the directors to remain viable. Without their support, there is no museum!
Hathian, if you steal from the museum, you are risking this treasure that is presently available for everyone.
Bring our Truck back
Some of you may have seen the Museum’s truck making the long journey between Laveau and Hathian, or into Hathian itself. Sometimes I drive it myself… being British I did my learner’s on a stick shift, so… that qualifies me more than most of the autos over here! Anyway, A museum needs supplies and from time to time makes acquisitions of display pieces. The truck itself is an antique but is well suited to the treacherous roads and long journeys needed to keep the museum functional.
Someone has stolen it. The directors have asked me in my capacity as both editor and museum representative to note that there is a $5k reward for the safe return of the truck and a $10k reward for undisputable proof of the thieves, so that either the Hathian Police Department (‘HPD’) or the Laveau Sheriff’s Office (‘LSD’) can be instructed to bring their full weight against the thieves.
Should you have information on either the location of the truck or explicit proof of who stole it, ideally with photographic evidence, then please reach out. A photograph of the vehicle is appended below.
Chemical Theft
While the loss of laptops, gift shop supplies and the like is a grievous blow to the operating efficiency and effectiveness of the business, the directors want to highlight that a rare item, which was due to be unloaded after a long acquisition process was also stolen.
This item is considered hazardous and could lead to injury to those who have stolen it. The directors therefore as well as offering a $5k reward for the safe return (unused) of the item also wish to bring the theft to the attention of the local medical authorities as said item may, if used incorrectly, lead to potential chemical poisoning. The item was on the way to be made inert when it was stolen. A photgraph of the item in the sender’s lab prior to the theft from the museum’s truck is attached.
Details of the Theft
Details of how the thieves got past security cameras, systems, metal detectors and the Hathian museum’s own private security team is sketchy, never-the-less it appears that some recently employed guards have been let go due to failure to perform their duties correctly.
At this time, the Directors are realising no further information but any citizen with either an ability to retrieve the truck, or the artifact is urged to contact the museum directly ((FaithTang.Resident)).
