On the 17th November, a gathering outside the Observer’s offices was held to celebrate a milestone in the local Hathian newspaper. The Observer, publishing since 2007 has reached a seventeen year milestone and over that time thousands of articles thanks to the hard working staff and editors. The party was a small way for current management to give back and also offer citizens a chance to party free in the streets, accompanied by the musical delight that is DJ Poppy.

Daiyu Tang, current Hathian Observer Editor (Intern) said the following to the journalists and citizens assembled, before she and those in the mood for music had a great few hours in the company of great music.

Daiyu: “Thank you all for coming to see our little Newspaper… I just wanted to say thank you for all the reporters who have over many years worked through danger, low pay and some difficult moral choices… you’ve found out scoops, exposed corruption, found killers and helped the FDH, HGH and even the HPD with their needs. We’ve got lots right, sometimes we got some shit wrong, but we fucking outlived all those other gossip rags… And so yeah, lots of thanks to Zofia, Carly, Viv, Venus, CU Gossip Girl, Lua and others like Rhys, Tugboat, Joanne and many more who aren’t around, who have found better jobs or got themselves out of Hathian. But for those of us who remain, we’ll do what we can, without fear or favour to try and deal with the Gangs, the Cops, and the Citizens that make this town what it is…”

Zofia, a sometimes journalist at the Observer was seen with her famous fire dance that she has taken from Backwaters to the Hathian theatre. The crowd all watched, without getting burnt, which for an Observer event was good going. Thank you readers.

((Many thanks to all the journalists over the last two or so years I’ve been around doing this – your contributions are amazing. Thank you to those who make RP and feature int he stories, without you making RP there would be no stories))
