The Observer was pleased to attend the wedding of Lizette and Koh on Sunday 3rd November 2024. Set in the ornamental grounds around the Hathian Museum & Galleries the Bride had chosen an Autumnal theme perfectly fitting with the season’s weather. Golds, Oranges, Russet Red and other artistic colours blended together with rustic browns and falling leaves to create a little oasis of calm in Hathian. Supervised by Poppy, an artist of many talents (including officiating ceremonies!) it was delightful to see vows exchanged and violence parked aside.
The Ceremony
Lizette was given away by Landon Fyre and she looked a picture of beauty with the bouquet, dress and accessories perfectly matching the season’s mood.
Fyre, who has been mostly missing from Hathian for quite a while generously refrained from antics (theatrics) and dutifully handed over his former (HPD) partner to Koh. It is good to see him back a bit, but this for once isn’t his story!
It also appeared that the HPD Inspector, Krystal, was not available and instead a whimsical cardboard cut-out of her appeared. To scale.
Meanwhile, Vanora had managed to keep black gloves as part of the outfit, but otherwise blended beautifully with the theme, while Atsuko and Lyss (who seemed not to have got the Autumn memo!) participated as the Bridesmaids.
On Koh’s side (he is an HPD officer I am less familiar with) there were the very fashionable Groomsmen, with Hiroshi taking front spot (with swords as usual probably giving Bear a few pokes to the midriff). Speaking of weapons Maja would have been interested to see Carter ‘Metalwork’ Ellis at the back with Phillip Aubin also in a place of honour.
The Vows
I find vows one of the best bits of the wedding, I love to hear what people promise and what they might say.
“Lizette, I give you this ring as a symbol of my promise to love you forever. With it, I promise that I will honor you, cherish you, and love you the rest of my days, regardless of what challenges or triumphs we face together.”

Lizette to Koh
And what vows would be complete without the confirmation from the officiant and the invitation to kiss the bride?
“Koh and Lizette, having proclaimed love and commitment to one another in the sight of these witnesses and myself, I am so happy to pronounce you, by the power vested in me by the Universal Life Church and the state of Louisiana, husband and wife! Koh, you may do us the honor kissing your beautiful bride!”
The wedding passed without incident and the newly married couple headed to their reception ready to dance the evening away! We wish them (and all couples who get married) a perfect day. Hathian is hard and for one day, putting that aside is meaningful, whether Police Officer or Criminal.
