Hathian my dear readers is known for having an eclectic mix of residents. People from all over the world, from all walks of life find themselves in Hathian and the surrounding areas. You yourself may have a story that begins far away from here. Hopefully your story won’t end like some of those in the article below. Readers with a nervous disposition are invited to turn to another story.

HPD Approached the Rabbit Hole

The Observer, through interviews with those involved was able to piece together what happened when Hathian Police Department encountered Alice Crow. Alice, someone who this paper has previously featured is a known problem for law enforcement. Here at the Observer, I try and have my reporters now give her a little bit of space and sympathy; I feel sorry for Alice and what she has been through, although it is fair to say that the below is shocking…

HPD had surrounded Alice’s trailer (the location of which we are keeping private) with two officers, (Alani and Anastasia) and performed a quick security assessment. Alice, known to be dangerous was not to be underestimated, although it is the Observer’s view that she is rarely linked to gun violence (if ever) so the threats to officers were likely to come from blades, drugs or even traps.

Our understanding is that HPD gave the normal warning (and by this we mean actually, announcing themselves, rather than as with some officers, just shooting) and waited for Alice to present herself, which of course the little menace didn’t do. One wonders what would have happened with a peaceful surrender, but the Observer might ascribe the trait of ‘reckless’ to Alice, (among others).

“Alice! You are under arrest! Drop any weapons and step outside slowly with your hands up. The trailer is surrounded and this doesn’t have to end in bloodshed!”

HPD Officer Anastasia recalls her second warning to Alice

We understand that Alice did not surrender but instead, in the face of tasers, batons, pistols and professional training decided to throw fireworks at the officers… The decisions of those operating in a different way to most of us, can seem strange when observed from the outside, but perhaps to Alice it made sense.

HPD backup was requested, the officers following procedure now it was certain that Alice was not going to surrender peacefully. Whether firecrackers warranted a potential appearance of Vanora and her riot van , or Landon and his boot was perhaps debatable (and it appears neither turned up) but it is the Observer’s view that surrendering to HPD in the face of potentially overwhelming force and numbers may be the more sensible cause (or running). It’s probably also worth a moment to reflect on what Officers are thinking in a situation like this…

  • Unpredictable ‘felon’
  • Risk to their own safety (which is more important than the felon’s)
  • Potential for other unknown assailants to appear or weapons to be deployed

Therefore those readers who might question why police shootings happen frequently in Hathian should possible reflect on the fact that in the heat of the moment and with the (generally accepted) view that HPD officers should not risk their own death needlessly, that Alice in this situation was definitely making it more likely she would be shot.

“Alice, Final Warning! Surrender peacefully and we will resolve this without further escalation. Otherwise we can and will use lethal force!”

A final warning is given to Alice

Drink Me

Alice is an improviser. The Observer has seen this before with her sending parts of bodies to our offices when we published an article she didn’t like. While we have now resolved our difference, we wonder if the two officers were quite prepared for what Alice might unleash…

The answer was no… glass jars filled with blood and possibly bits of people. Definitely don’t ‘Eat Me’ with those.

The officers entered the trailer, Ana recalling that she was inside while Alani operated as a distraction on the outside and after consideration fired shots to disorientate and potentially confuse Alice on the inside. In a show of improvisation, we understand that Ana used a firecracker back on Alice, almost as an improvised flashbang. We also understand that additional reinforcements, in the form of one Atsuko Nakayama arrived on scene.

With HPD perhaps not used to dealing with biological weapons, it was truly a gruesome sight as we understand it. When our reporter later visited the scene (see below) it was still atrocious.

We understand that gunfire from the officers eventually disarmed Alice from her ‘biological weapons’, but that she then proceeded to threaten to slit her own throat in front of the officers. Sometimes the Observer really does want readers to note that if all of HPD was corrupt, the easiest route would just have been to allow Alice to follow through on that threat.

“You still have the chance to surrender and come quietly.. make the smart choice!”

Officer Ana to Alice

There’s Hardly Enough of Alice Left to Make One Respectable Person!

While it was not clear from the recollection of officers if Alice’s IDS related personality (‘Rabbit’) was present, it is likely and we understand that Alice had already procured a Rabbit mask which was retrieved from the scene. The Observer wishes that Alice could be given the longer term help she needs, but when visited in the hospital before this incident, it was unclear how best Alice’s longer term needs could be met to break this cycle.

“I’m going to fucking kill you both, we don’t like cops….”

Alice as recalled by the officers

HPD Statement

“Officer Anastasia Bryukhanov, acting on a credible tip, executed the arrest of a wanted felon, Alice ‘Crow’ Lehane. Upon entering the premises, officers encountered a scene of macabre and disconcerting nature. The suspect, seemingly prepared for confrontation, engaged in resistance tactics, utilizing makeshift weapons containing unsettling materials.

Inside the residence, officers encountered several unsettling objects, including blood-filled bottles, bodies under the floor boards and what appeared to be biological bombs, glass bottles filled with human remains. The suspect, Alice ‘Crow’ Lehane, exhibited a confrontational demeanour, making ominous threats towards law enforcement.

During the arrest, Officer Bryukhanov and fellow officer Alani Hunter maintained composure, effectively neutralizing potential threats and securing the suspect without escalation. The apprehension will be processed through standard legal procedures, and the additional details of this disturbing incident will be thoroughly investigated as part of the ongoing case.”

Our Reporter Writes

By Zofia Lewandowska

I was contacted by the police department regarding a recent incident. They told me that Dr. Alice was involved in some very disturbing activities and mentioned the need to inform Hathian Citizens. And that’s our job. I accepted and I first went to the jail and then to the scene of the crime.

First Stop, Bars in the Prison

I know Alice, I worked with her briefly at the clinic in Laveau. She’s a good doctor, but she may have some issues of her own. (Yes she does – Ed)

I visited Dr. Alice in prison under the supervision of Officer Anastasia. Dr. Alice was naked in her cell and not in a good mental condition. It is obvious that she needs medical and psychological help and perhaps a visit to the asylum. I asked her about what happened, but she was unwilling to answer.

Second Stop, The Trailer of Horrors

After the prison tour, we moved on to the crime scene, which was located inside a wooden trailer / house.

Ana: “This is where we found Alice. Be prepared; it’s not an easy sight. We had received a tip about Alice, she had an APB for an assault on a Police Officer and her involvement in criminal activities. When we arrived, the situation escalated, leading to her arrest,” “

I’ll be honest, I’ve never seen anything like it before. Human bones, bits of bodies under the floorboards, jars of blood and bits of human remains. And jars of eyeballs.

It all looked very real, and as the analysis later said, it was.

I couldn’t stay in the house and after a few minutes I had to escape. I couldn’t breathe inside. Fortunately, Ana, the police officer, supported me and behaved very professionally.

Ana: “You’re lucky you didn’t have blood bombs through at you like we did this morning and it’s a complex situation. We’re still piecing everything together. The bodies found here match the descriptions of missing persons, and there’s evidence of foul play. We need to wait for the forensic analysis and further investigation to draw conclusions, but it’s clear that Alice was involved in some disturbing activities. The town needs to know about this, it’s right on their doorstep.”

I took a few photos but we have removed the drastic ones for obvious reasons.

The questions remain. Is Dr. Alice the monster that killed? Or was she stealing dead bodies from the hospital, funeral home or cemetery? Who were these dead and is she working alone or with someone else? (I feel sorry for Alice still – Ed)
