Today, for twelve hours, the Sigma Girls handed out boxes of food from their Food Bank truck for those who were in need! A large pink crate has been sitting outside next to the pool in front of the Sigma House for the past week or so now, and there has been a lot of speculation about what was really inside the pink box. Well, ladies and gentlemen, not that I personally had any doubt, but I can officially confirm that there was indeed food inside this box.
That’s right, contrary to public opinion, (though not the opinion of this writer), the Sigma ladies are indeed proving to the student body that they are about more than just fetish parties and sexy pool parties. They even care about their community too! I know, shocking. And yes, if you can’t tell… I’m being sarcastic with my surprise. Having spent time with the ladies of Sigma House both in and out of the pool, I promise you these are women who are more than what they might appear on the outside.
When I arrived, Anna and Charlie were working the booth and welcomed me with their usual smiles and warmth. While the answer to my first question may seem obvious, I asked it anyway.
Trin: “What inspired Sigma House to run this food bank?”
Anna: “It’s a way to help the community, so much so that there was an offer made to the other Greek houses to help with the food bank today… community service is important, and it’s always good to pay it forward n’at.“
Charlie: “Like the more publicity we get the more good we can do right… Yea if we can help others out in their time of need why not.”
Trin: “And did the other Greek houses get involved? Or has it been mostly Sigma today? It’s a fantastic operation, for sure… and a much-needed one! What kind of food are you giving away?”
Anna: “What is usually given out at food banks: staple foods, canned items n’at… A couple people helped, and one donated some food as well, but otherwise it has mostly been Sigma.”
Charlie opened up one of the boxes that they were giving out and she showed me the selection of canned goods and staples that were inside. There was definitely enough food in there to last a starving student for a couple of weeks!
Thee came over then, excited and proud of all her hard-working sisters, and she made a comment that perked my ears a little. Just like we learned in our Journalism lesson, sometimes when you just listen, the questions come naturally! She said, “It looks like we’ve finally broken all those misconceptions people had about it.”
I turned on her and asked, “What kind of misconceptions? Did people seriously doubt that this was all just for the good of helping people get food on campus?”
A couple of ladies that had joined the gathering admitted that they’d thought this was a lingerie giveaway, which I suppose would be a reasonable assumption given the kinds of events that Sigma House is known for putting on.
Thee: “People were saying all kinds of things on social media. Some were convinced that container was full of new implants and special toys for Jizz. But now we’ve finally had the chance to show everyone that Sigma not only has great implants… but a great heart too.”
I admitted that it was indeed a good thing to see that the container had been full of food all along, and that it would have been pretty cold for Jizza and the Sigma girls to have a crate that said ‘food bank’ on it and not give out food. I really had been surprised to think that students would have thought that there was anything BUT food in there!
Before letting them get back to work, I asked for any final thoughts about the Food Drive. One bystander insisted that next time, there should be all sorts of freaky stuff in the boxes. Charlie reiterated that she was glad that they were able to do “good things for the community.” She also said she hoped “lots of people visit, both those who need the help and those willing to offer up goods and money so we can continue to help those in need.”
But as she usually did, Thee summed it all up pretty well: “Maybe this is a reminder that people shouldn’t judge Sigma by rumors, social media posts, or appearances. Today proved that behind the lipstick, heels, and gossip, there are women willing to show up and help when it actually matters.”
Later on, I was able to catch up with the President of Sigma House herself, Jizzabelle Lovejoy, who was helping give out food.

Trin: “Well… I really got some awesome quotes already from the girls earlier… But yeah, I just wanted to hear about your motives behind all of this, and maybe give you a chance to respond to the critics who seem to have been in doubt about whether or not there was actually food in the crate.. Which honestly, I think is ridiculous. Like you’d tease people with food and then not give it. That’s not you.”
Jizza: “My motive? Well, there’s a couple. First off, keep in mind that I missed out on a lot of the rise of social media in captivity, and all the entitlement that came with it. Then, last year, my first in freedom, before I became prez, I saw a lot of entitlement, especially in the gals that were most fixated on their socials. Gratitude… might just be the best antidote to entitlement,” she then gestures to the canopy and container around them. “So, rather than just call it out and gripe, I wanted to create a culture of gratitude in Sigma Theta Noir… The parties were great, but everyone seemed to forget that they raised food and money donations for this. Even the fetish party…. The second motivation, I think is pretty well detailed in the article I just sent to Daiyu. I want myself and the sisters to live in such a way that disproves the damaging, dated cultural notion that a woman’s worth is tied to what’s happened between her legs. Let’s see how long that idea lasts on campus when the house with the biggest slut rep is here running this kind of charitable effort.”
So to conclude, with more words of wisdom from Thee, anyone can throw a decent party. But it’s about looking outwards and reminding people to be grateful and help each other that’s a lot harder to do. But the Sigma girls are definitely proving today that they do indeed have big hearts.
