I’ve only been planning and talking about this thing all damn semester. Frankly, it’s about time.
This food bank launch would have happened sooner, but with all the construction going on, and the landscapes, both physical and social, shifting around us, I’ve been distracted. It’s also made finding rental space to run the bank out of difficult.
That’s when Daiyu suggested running it on a pop-up basis out of a container. So that’s exactly what I’ve lined up. We’ll be able to move the thing around and park it near needy areas throughout the greater Hathian area, and it’ll let us get a bead on potential permanent locations.
The Details
For launch, we’re running it right out front of the sorority house, at 8 AM, Sunday, June 21. Flyers will be up around the area soon, as they will be for subsequent openings. The plans for food bank closing times will be to continue operations until supplies run out.
Greek House Questions
This will also serve as initiation, after which, all Sigma Theta Noir pledges participating will be elevated to full sisterhood. With regards for what to wear, well… just don’t get Officer Dino on our asses for public exposure again, okay? Especially not while we’re launching a charity effort. Besides, we’ll be lugging boxes down from the attic, so dress to sweat a little.
As to what happens after, we’ll figure that out as we go.
Now, I’m well aware there is interest among the other Greek Houses, including Pi Delta Alpha, to participate in the opening. Any that wish to participate are beyond welcome to do so whenever it convenes them throughout the day. I look forward to seeing you all at the launch.
