It is widely recognized that Columtreal University has long aspired to attain Ivy League level distinction, yet has historically remained in the shadow of its larger and more established peer institutions. Today, however, the University marks a significant milestone in advancing toward that objective through the awarding of a competitive research grant in recognition of its sustained and rigorous scholarly contributions. These efforts have been particularly concentrated within the field of evolutionary psychology, with specific emphasis on the study of sociosexual archetypes and their systematic scientific analysis. This emerging area of inquiry, colloquially referred to, for lack of a more precise term, as “Bimbo Science”, represents a novel and interdisciplinary approach to understanding gendered social signalling and adaptive behaviour.

Excerpts from the research study led by Professor Cox, which was instrumental in securing the research grant, are presented below. Additional information may be obtained through her instructional lectures, where the study is examined in greater depth.

Interested parties are encouraged to consult the Columtreal University events calendar, as these sessions are open to the general public.

MALE PREFERENCES IN SHORT-TERM VS. LONG-TERM RELATIONSHIPS ACROSS SOCIOSEXUAL ARCHETYPES

A research study by Columtreal University Evolutionaty Psychologist, Dr. Carly Cox.

Introduction
Understanding male mate preferences requires disentangling evolutionary psychology, sociocultural conditioning, and immediate sexual incentives. This study examines data from dating apps (Tinder, Bumble), pornographic search analytics (Pornhub, XVideos), and longitudinal studies in partner selection (Buss, 1989; Schmitt, 2005). We analyse five sociosexual archetypes: Bimbo, Girl Next Door, Bombshell, Tomboy, Athlete, across seven dimensions, ranking each by male desirability in short-term (ST) and long-term (LT) contexts.

Archetype Definitions used in this study:

Bimbo

The Bimbo archetype is characterized by an overtly hyperfeminine physical presentation, often emphasizing exaggerated secondary sex characteristics, conspicuous grooming, and fashion choices designed to maximize visibility and sexual signaling. Behaviorally, this type is commonly associated with a performative emphasis on approachability, playfulness, and reduced social threat, often coupled with the strategic downplaying of intellectual seriousness in social interactions.

Girl Next Door

The Girl Next Door archetype typically presents a natural, understated physical appearance, favoring casual or practical attire and minimal aesthetic exaggeration. Behaviorally, this type is associated with warmth, relatability, and social conformity, often conveying emotional accessibility, trustworthiness, and a preference for stable interpersonal dynamics over overt attention-seeking.

Bombshell

The Bombshell archetype is defined by a polished and striking physical appearance that balances sexual appeal with confidence and composure. Presentation often includes deliberate styling, poised body language, and controlled expressiveness. Behaviorally, this type is associated with self-assurance, social dominance, and an awareness of personal impact, projecting allure without overt submission or casualness.

Tomboy

The Tomboy archetype is marked by a more androgynous or utilitarian physical presentation, often favoring comfort and function over traditional femininity. Behaviorally, this type is associated with assertiveness, independence, and preference for activities or social roles traditionally coded as masculine, frequently emphasizing competence, directness, and physical engagement.

Athlete

The Athlete archetype is characterized by a visibly conditioned and muscular physique reflective of regular physical training. Clothing and presentation often highlight functionality and physical capability. Behaviorally, this type is associated with discipline, goal orientation, competitiveness, and resilience, with social interactions often shaped by performance, teamwork, and achievement-oriented values.

Short-Term and Long-Term Relationship Definitions

Short-Term Relationships (ST)
Short-term relationships encompass interpersonal arrangements such as hookups, one-night encounters, casual sexual partnerships, and non-exclusive dating. These relationships are characterized by relatively low emotional investment, limited expectations of future commitment, and a primary emphasis on sexual or short-duration interaction rather than long-term bonding or partnership formation.

Long-Term Relationships (LT)
Long-term relationships include sustained romantic partnerships such as committed dating relationships, serious partnerships, engagements, marriages, and parenting-based unions. These relationships are defined by high levels of emotional investment, mutual commitment, long-term planning, and, in many cases, shared responsibilities related to cohabitation, family formation, or child-rearing.

1. Facial Types

Scientific Context: Symmetry, neoteny (youthful features), and femininity (small jaw, full lips) predict attractiveness (Perrett et al., 1998). ST preferences skew toward exaggerated neoteny (Bimbo: high), LT toward balanced femininity (Girl Next Door: high).

Rankings:

  • ST: Bombshell > Bimbo > Girl Next Door > Athlete > Tomboy
  • LT: Girl Next Door > Bombshell > Athlete > Tomboy > Bimbo

Example: A Bimbo’s hyper-feminine, doll-like face elicits lust but distrust for LT commitment; a Girl Next Door’s softer features signal nurturance and dependability.

2. Hair Types and Color

Scientific Context: Blondeness correlates with ST attractiveness (Swami & Barrett, 2011), while brunettes receive more LT proposals (Poundr data). Pornographic search data from Pornhub also suggests that blondes have the highest amount of searches, while brunettes have the longest play duration of videos.

Rankings:

  • ST: Blonde (Bimbo) > Red (Bombshell) > Brunette (Girl Next Door) > Short/Colored (Tomboy) > Athletic (Ponytail, Athlete)
  • LT: Brunette (Girl Next Door) > Blonde (Bimbo) > Red (Bombshell) > Athlete > Tomboy

3. Body Types

Scientific Context: Waist-to-hip ratio (WHR 0.7) is universally preferred, but BMI preferences diverge: ST leans toward curvaceous (Bombshell), LT toward “healthy average” (Girl Next Door) (Singh, 1993).

Rankings:

  • ST: Bombshell (hourglass) > Bimbo (exaggerated curves) > Athlete (toned) > Girl Next Door (moderate) > Tomboy (androgynous)
  • LT: Girl Next Door > Athlete > Bombshell > Tomboy > Bimbo

Example: Men fantasize about a Bombshell’s proportions but worry about high maintenance; an Athlete’s physique suggests discipline, a LT asset.

4. Archetypes

Scientific Context: Archetypes encode reproductive strategies. Bimbos signal ST availability (low inhibition), Tomboys signal egalitarianism (higher LT trust) (Jonason et al., 2015).

Rankings:

  • ST: Bimbo > Bombshell > Girl Next Door > Athlete > Tomboy
  • LT: Girl Next Door > Athlete > Tomboy > Bombshell > Bimbo

5. Sexual Frequency

Data Source: Annual Pornhub search analytics (2020-2024) and marital satisfaction studies (Blumstein & Schwartz, 2017).
Measured in average sexual intercourse frequency per week.

Findings:

  • Bimbo: 5x+ Highest ST frequency, but steep LT decline (novelty wears off).
  • Bombshell: 4-5x – ST High – LT Moderate to high depending on male insecurities.
  • Girl Next Door: 2-3x Moderate ST, highest LT stability.
  • Tomboy/Athlete: 1-2x Lower frequency ST but more adventurous LT (e.g., role-play).

6. Preferred Sexual Acts

Data Source: Porn search analytics (aggregated kinks by archetype).

  • Bimbo: DP, Gangbangs, facials, excessive focus on performative pleasure, anal
  • Bombshell: Vaginal, “POV” positions (cowgirl, doggy)., anal
  • Tomboy: BDSM (higher submission searches).
  • Athlete: DP, strength-based (lift-and-fuck tropes).
  • Girl Next Door: Vanilla, cunnilingus (intimacy-focused).

7. Deception Potential

Scientific Context: Men “over-promise” commitment to secure ST sex with high-arousal archetypes (Cox 2024).

Most Lied To:

  1. Bimbo (82% of men admit exaggeration)
  2. Bombshell (67%)
  3. Athlete (45%)
  4. Tomboy (33%)
  5. Girl Next Door (12%)

Conclusion: What Each Archetype Can Expect From Men on Average

  • Bimbo: ST: Adoration, objectification, explosive but fleeting sex. LT: Rapid decline in respect; seen as “fun but not wife material.”
  • Girl Next Door: ST: Less initial passion, but deeper emotional investment. LT: Highest marital satisfaction; “the one you bring home.”
  • Bombshell: ST: Trophy dynamics, intense lust. LT: Anxiety over mate-poaching; “high maintenance” stigma.
  • Tomboy: ST: Novelty, erotic androgyny. LT: Partnership equity, but less gender-role conformity.
  • Athlete: ST: Fetishization of strength. LT: Admiration, but sexual competition fears.

Example: A Bimbo’s ST relationship thrives on her willingness to perform; a Girl Next Door’s LT thrives on mutual growth. A Tomboy’s partner might miss traditional femininity but gain a co-parenting ally.

Final Note: Preferences are probabilistic, not deterministic, individual variation abounds. But data reveals patterns as old as evolution itself: men seek fertility in ST, fidelity in LT, and archetypes mediate the trade-off.
