The following incident was witnessed by our roving reporter who witnessed the rescue of one Carly Martini…
It wouldn’t be a New Year in Hathian without new acts of crime to kick off the start of the year.
At approx. 5:00PM on January 1st, the Hathian Police Department (‘HPD’) were dispatched to the corner of Main Street & Berthier when a caller told authorities of suspicious activity happening by the Clam Gas Station. According to spectators, a red DeLorean parked awkwardly up on the curb of the sidewalk as a large unmarked van pulled up and idled in the street next to it. A man in a mask exits the car and quickly leaps into the van as it speeds down the street.
When police arrived, they realized it wasn’t an motor vehicle accident but a serious crime scene.
Inside the car was an unconscious woman, bleeding profusely in the driver’s seat of what would later be discovered to be her own vehicle. A large hammer had been lodged into the glass of the windshield.
The woman has been identified as Carly Martini, who is the registered owner of the vehicle and is known to carry a large hammer around with her. This woman and this particular hammer are no strangers here in town having been featured many times.
After clearing the car for any possible bomb threats, the FDH arrived and stabilized the victim left inside before transferring her to the Hathian General Hospital.
Upon further inspection of the crime scene, it appears that this was a gang-related incident. The red car had symbol of local gang the Haven keyed in on the hood and was staged outside of the Berthier Street Bakery, where it is well known that rival gang the Vipers dwell.
The vehicle appears to be a message to the Vipers. But one can only be so sure with the embedded secrets here in Hathian. Trick? Confusion? Misdirection? Are the Haven behind this? Perhaps the Vipers are trying to frame them? Maybe another gang is trying to stir up conflict amongst the two opposing gangs?
Here in Hathian, grudges run strong, like scars that never fade.
