In celebration of Independence Day, the Berthier St. Bakery is teaming up with cupcake creator Sergeant Hiroshi Shaw-Suzuki to raise funds for the support of our municipal services and their families.
The Municipal cupcake was created by the Sergeant as a submission to the bakery’s cupcake contest with the suggestion that it be used to raise funds for this charity, an idea eagerly taken up by bakery owner Annika Jacmenkovich.
“We’re excited to announce our July Cupcake of the Month: The Municipal, created by Sergeant Shaw-Suzuki which features a raspberry, blueberry, or vanilla cake swirled with berry compote and frosted with whipped vanilla-ginger mascarpone in patriotic red, white, and blue. It is a bite of summer-sweet warmth. But more importantly, a portion of each purchase will be an act of citizenship and community support.” said Ms. Jacmenkovich.
The Berthier St. Bakery is known for its support of our municipal services, making a generous donation to the Fire Department of Hathian after the firehouse was impacted by a tragic truck explosion earlier this year. Ms. Jacmenkovich led fundraising efforts for the completion of the new hospital the prior year, collecting $343,482 in donations.
