Local restaurant Flamin’ Cajun paid a surprise visit to the Hathian Fire Department this past weekend. Flamin’ Cajun was offering support and encouragement during this challenging time, delivering their infamous top rated Cajun/Creole dishes to the entire FDH.
In times of tragedy, one of the most powerful tools for healing is community support. Whether it’s a warm meal from a local restaurant, a kind word from a neighbor, or a simple gesture of solidarity, these acts rally us together and remind us that we are not alone in our grief. Denise Russo and silent business partner are already known for their unwarranted support of those who save the city and risk lives on a daily basis. This would be no different.

The beloved local eatery, bringing with them a feast that would make anyone drool! Featuring signature dishes such as their Jambalaya, to a Seafood Boil, and the infamous Bourbon Street Steak, all of which is locally sourced and made fresh. The Captain Nate Ferrer is one to never pass up a free meal and was the very first one in line (to no surprise by the owners). Soon others joined from all ranks – Probies to the Chief Trevor Pentewyn . The team delivered not only hot delicious food but also a buffet of hugs and warm wishes to the grieving firefighters. It was a touching reminder that in times of adversity, community bonds can strengthen, no matter how spicy the gumbo is!
Denise and silent business partner of Flamin’ had the following joint statement: “Support from local businesses helps bolster the community’s morale, turning a tragic scenario into a celebration of unity. Flamin’ Cajun’s gesture is significant because it shows that even in grief, there’s room for love, laughter, and a little culinary flair. Food brings everyone together. These small acts encourage others to step up and contribute, reminding us all that each one of us has a role to play in lifting each other up. We encourage all local business to follow our path.”
