An anonymous text sent me over to what appeared to be a new motel over in Rougarou where I found a small contingent of the Hathian PD being set upon (after they attempted to throw their authority around) by locals who seemed to have setup the usual Hathian entertainment: pool, drugs, drinks and tiny swimwear. However, like many Hathian events it appeared that weapons and violence were never that far from the picture.
I, sneakily, (if I do say so myself) took up position with a decent field of view, but as the action extended for nearly the whole frontage of the motel, I couldn’t quite pick out all the officers involved, but there were two distinct fights going on.
In the group closest to me, Lt. Vanora (a staple of the Observer’s Lingerie Officer of the month) was with HPD Inspector Krystal ‘Rommel‘ O’Neil who despite being perhaps even shorter than I, was attempting to ID people.
These two, along with the two other officers in the background comprised a contingent of HPD, far from their home (relatively) arrayed against a motley contingent of the handsome, the scruffy and the just plain ‘Hathian’ of the town. A few I know, but have chosen not to name as it wasn’t clear who exactly was the main instigator of violence (if you put aside that some might default to ‘the HPD’ as that answer).

I do not advocate violence against law enforcement here. I won’t even bother to link the countless articles that show any such ‘win’ is often short-lived with the cycle of violence peaking after every atrocity. Sure there are some officers who should probably take retirement, but that’s a quiet, out of sight thing. Going up to Vanora or Krystal and punching or stabbing at them… that’s just low level thuggery… especially if the cassus belli was ‘ID Please’ or even (‘ID Asshole’).
As I watched the scene unfold I became worried for the safety of the officers. The image above shows both Krystal (background) getting into some kind of electrifying encounter with a rather hunky chap in swimwear, while in the foreground Vanora and an unknown female are on the ground, with others approaching to kick or otherwise attack the officer. This is not cool Hathian. Anyone here been assaulted on the street by these two in any dangerous way? I don’t think so, if it happens at all. Other officers? Yes. But the more yah set on the ones who at least try LAW, the more the LAWLESS ones come at others. Carter-Metal-Dick needs little excuse and these kinda attacks just give them more.
Anyway, the Observer understands that Vanora and Krystal were extricated to safety and via the team in HGH brought back to duty (give or take) within a few days. Of the attackers, the HPD provided no comment, but one cannot be surprised if Inspector ‘Rommel’ is busy planning a campaign of revenge.
