Greetings Hathian, I bring you happy news. As you might have already heard Simon and Della recently tied the knot on valentines day and you might be thinking ‘finally!‘ like me and remembering that scene from The Princess Diaries 2: The Royal Engagement. You now that one where Mia doesn’t get married and the Queen walks Joe down the aisle and the priest looks up to the ceiling and says “finally!” then Julie Andrews makes that face like ‘well I had no idea’.
I digress, so the ceremony opened with an untraditional wedding March, the classic hair metal hit ‘You give love a bad name’ by Bon Jovi. As I had the honor of being the Maid of Honor I was thinking as I followed behind the bridesmaids Alice and Xena, is the song for Della or Simon? Or both? Then I remembered that scene from Sweet Home Alabama, you know the one where Melanie and Jake almost dance at the street festival but she stops and all the Moms are watching them and one asks, ‘why do they fight it?‘ That’s what I was thinking, ‘why did they fight their feelings for so long?‘
Ceremony
The ceremony was officiated by Lucas and ‘Aunty Mama Karigan’ as Della beamed.
The Bride, a vision in a white dress with red accents, and her bridal party in flowing red mermaid gowns arrived in a vintage 1966 Rolls Royce Limo. In fact that very Limo the Maid of honor rode in The Biloxi Mardi Gras parade as Miss Teen Mississippi years ago, as Shilo myself, gifted the limo to the happy couple as a wedding present, because what do you get a power couple who already has everything? A waffle iron? Basic!
The ceremony was beautiful and a bit cheeky as Lucas kept pointing a scepter with what appeared to be a equestrian phallic shaped dildo at the end of it, probably from the company Bad Dragon. Not that this reporter would know.
In attendance were mostly HGH employees, family and a few HPD Officers. Again, I digress because it is a happy moment indeed. So happy in fact Officer Frye made and appearance with a one Lizzette Calhern, who this reporter was surprised to see as Ms. Calhern has called the blushing bride ‘A blonde dingbat‘ in the past.
I caught a few snide glances and remarks between the groom and Mr. Frye but nothing important to ruin the couples beautiful day.
After the ceremony there was a hoe down in the barn, amidst the celebration drinking and dancing there was a somber goodbye as we bid Miss Alice a farewell on a new adventure and the next chapter of her life, taking her away from Louisiana, wherever life takes her next we can only hope it brings her the peace she so desperately needs, or so I have heard. I did speak to her briefly and she told me that Salem is safe and happy with her kids on a farm in Northwest Louisiana.
There was something called Ambrosia floating around the party and I mentioned “I love ambrosia salad” everyone laughed and I said “what? You know canned fruit cocktail, coconut, cool whip and mixed mini marshmallows?” There was no salad and I didn’t want a serving of it. Then Lucas dressed in a bear costume and tore up the dance floor it was quite amusing after 6 hours of drinking, partying and dancing this reporter was pooped and decided to call it a night. Afterwards the blushing bride and groom jetset off on their honey moon in Aspen where Della told me “Simon’s gonna teach me how to ski!” I smiled and said “Well don’t hit a tree” as a poor joke then apologized because I don’t want to be the one who jokes about people getting injured, though one time I was snowboarding and I ended up tumbling down the hill accidently doing cart wheels while still attached to the snowboard, everyone was cheering once I reached the bottom of the slope and fell into the ditch. Boy was I dizzy.
So that’s my story and I’m sticking to it! Who knows maybe I will have some juicy gossip for Maja when they return from their honey moon. But it will probably be NSFW content *winks.
