Lieutenant Atsuko Nakayama Announces Launch of ‘Transparency in the HPD’ Pilot Programme

Hathian, 3.14.2025: Lieutenant Atsuko Nakayama of the Hathian Police Department (HPD) is proud to announce the launch of a new pilot program aimed at fostering greater transparency and communication between the HPD and the community. The program, called ‘Transparency in the HPD’, is designed to keep the public informed about key department activities and initiatives that could impact residents and their neighbourhoods.

Working alongside other members of the HPD brass, Lieutenant Atsuko Nakayama is committed to ensuring that residents are not only aware of significant departmental changes but also involved in discussions that affect the well-being of the Hathian community. Through regular updates, open channels for feedback, and clear communication, the HPD aims to build stronger, more trustful relationships with the community it serves.

“We recognize the importance of open communication and the need for our residents to stay informed about the issues that affect their safety and quality of life. Through this new initiative, we hope to ensure that the voices of our community members are heard and that they have a clear understanding of the steps we’re taking to improve public safety and service.”

Captain Julian Heckler

The ‘Transparency in the HPD’ program will involve regular announcements and updates from the HPD brass, as well as accessible forums for residents to ask questions, express concerns, and provide feedback. This initiative is part of a broader effort by the department to foster a collaborative approach to policing that prioritizes community engagement.

The HPD encourages all residents to take part in this process, as their input will play a vital role in the ongoing success of the program.
