Good news for those who follow the art-scene in Hathian and the surrounding area. Deliveries to the Hathian Museum & Galleries gift shop can resume after the vintage truck belonging to the museum and used for difficult trips between Hathian, Laveau and other areas was recovered outside a tattoo parlour in Laveau. It had been reported stolen a few days prior.

With little damage, the Hathian Museum reported to us via our editor Daiyu (who is also a representative there) that other than the stolen contents which have been reported to the Laveau Sheriff Department (‘LSD’) that the machine seems to be in good working order. Surprisingly , interviewed for ‘her’ own paper, she stated (after sending us a photo of her sitting on the roof of the truck):

Daiyu: “We had two tips into the museum about the location of the truck. The first left anonymous voice-mails and despite a reward being offered made no attempt to claim it. A little while later the LSD themselves reported they had seen the truck, but by that time museum staff were already securing it and requesting CCTV from the local businesses.”

“Hey, yah, about the article in the paper? I saw a truck lookin like the one in the paper, in the picture, you know. It rolled into Laveau makin all kinda noise and smoke. Spotted it later on parked up on second street outside the tattoo place. Might be yours, might not. Might wanna check it out. Hope you get yer stuff back”

Voicemail left at the Hathian Museum and galleries. Southern, deep, not hugely educated in tone.

With the truck recovered and a calling card left with local businesses for evidence, Daiyu reports to us that she was pleased to speak with the owner of Empire Tattoos, Kingston Varriale, who promised to provide CCTV if any existed of whomever dumped the truck.

More worryingly though all the items in the truck remain missing, including the relic.

Daiyu reported that she was given a helpful piece of advice from Mr. Varriale to go try the Hidden Relics store in Laveau, although it would be a fairly stupid thief to try and sell something to a shop that the museum is known to visit on delivery runs.

Kingston: “I do have security cams. Shoot me your email and I’ll forward what I got. Let me know if you need anythin’ else and sorry to hear about your cargo. I hope you get it back. May want to try talkin’ to Calli over at Hidden relics. Whoever has your shit might have tried sellin’ it to her.”

Daiyu and the Observer are thankful for local businesses keeping an eye-out for crime and for the property of others, so if you’re around and need ink, go check out Empire Tattoos and thank them for their community spirit!

Small Risk – Reward Remains

As noted in the previous article, one item in particular has chemical components and remains missing. If you see it then please contact the Museum’s switchboard and a retrieval team can come and secure it before ensuring you receive a reward.

In addition to the item above, the following manifest has been provided, so for those that run a Dollar Store (Andy…) or anywhere else like that, keep an eye out for the following flooding the market:

Crate 1: This crate contained items of general necessity for the museum such as art supplies, light bulbs, giftshop stock, non perishable items. This crate might fetch at most $2k if fenced to the right people at the right time. Sadly, these items tend to be not traceable and easily split apart.
Crate 2: This crate contained more valuable items used for the running of the museum, including monitors and laptops, various conservation materials for use in a lab setting and certain chemical supplies used for the cleaning, preservation and general upkeep of rarer items. These, if the right person can be found, likely in total might fetch $5,000. Sadly, chemicals get into bad uses in Hathian and Laveau, so please be on the lookout.
Crate 3: This is the item noted in our previous article. It is considered unsafe unless in conservationist hands.
