While near Columtreal University, I came across a woman in some distress, one who had actually been trying to find a journalist to talk about her missing Fiancé. This after, allegedly, no action had happened for a few days with the HPD. In this city, it is hard to hold that length of delay against the police who even on a good day likely have murders and other issues. Yet, I still find missing persons scary (what if it was my loved one) so I agreed to gather some details and post an ad here, hoping that perhaps you dear readers could assist Janet Peridot in her search.
I spoke with Janet to find out who she was looking for and why.
Janet: ”My fiancé is missing three days now. I cannot find him on his phone, I cannot find his mother that he was going to visit. I have reported the issue to the police but I have not heard anything. They told me they have nothing in their records…”
Again, not having him in HPD records is not an issue itself, he might well have been one of the clean people in Hathian with no record!
Observer: “May I ask why you feel he is missing in a bad way? This is out of character yes?”
Janet: ‘‘The police sent me to the HCS offices for another issue I had. We were supposed to get married this coming Sunday. My fiancée visa was expiring on Monday just in time for our wedding. After the wedding I can get a green card… I’m from France you see. So this threw that all in the air… Thankfully a lawyer at HCS extended my visa for another 90 days but she told me that the behaviour of my fiancee is one of a typical crook! But I cannot believe that… Together with him disappeared the $25k that was my savings that we were to use to buy furniture for our new house and our common credit card is $50k in the red! I am deeply worried, but I strongly believe that he is not a crook and maybe an article calling all who know to help would help me find him”
It might appear to readers that this looks like a romance scam or similar, and there are questions as to why the money disappeared but the trip still went ahead. Never-the-less, in Hathian it is perfectly possible that the man was kidnapped and was forced to withdraw money. Therefore the Observer is asking for any sightings of Janet’s partner to be reported to HPD.
Observer: “Ok, so just to give some background, how did you meet him?”
Janet: “Of course… I met him in person, we met at Lourdes France six months ago. We fell in love to each other and we decided to moved to USA, Columtreal specifically…”
