Hello Fellow Hathians! It’s been a long time and I want to start this with apologizing for my lengthy absence. If you don’t know who I am, that’s fine… I still love you. Anyway, I lost sight of my mission but after hearing this story, I could no longer stand by idly watching. With everything happening in Hathian, I know that what we need most is good news but sometimes we need to remember why we have to keep fighting for true justice!

Rejects & Cops – What Could go Wrong?

I caught up with a local in Hathian who recently had a troubling experience involving an off duty police officer and a local gang most know as the Rejects, though I have heard whispers of them being called by a certain boy band name*. I got the chance to interview Karigan directly to find out the truth of what happened that day.

To give you some sense of this and the actors it’s fair to say that when I arrived I quickly gathered that Karigan is a lovely woman. Her southern accent might be the most charming thing about her, though there is a long list! But sadly, the unfortunate part of the scene that greeted me was that her arm was in a sling, with a bandage around her shoulder and the bright purple bruising gracing her porcelain cheek. After making sure she was ready, we began the interview.

CD: “So I know the experience you are going to recount was shocking and frankly terrifying, but if you would, can you start at the beginning? What were you doing out and about that day?”

KH: “Well I recently met the love of my life and we were married. He has a daughter that I have been working on getting a bond with, as any step parent would. Jez, well she is a very passionate young woman. With Breast Cancer Awareness month on the horizon, she had decided that she wanted to head out and try to educate many of the Hathians on proper testing methods to catch it quick and maybe save their life”

CD: “That is incredible! What an amazing young woman! But that does seem like hardly the kind of thing someone would be violent about. What happened next?”

At this time ladies and gentleman, I can tell you that the remembering of the event was painful for her. It was plain on her face as like the words on the screen or paper you’re reading now. Let’s continue.

KH: “Well we had gone into Lou’s and found what we assumed was a couple, which gosh, I know we shouldn’t assume things like that. No one’s perfect though, ya know? But our Jez approached just as sweet as pie, offering to educate them on early detection for lumps and the like. Wouldn’t ya know it, they got super aggressive, though the cowboy sure did seem like a sweetheart.”

CD: “Oh? That’s rather odd. Do you know why they might have reacted that way?”

It was after this question that Karigan actually blushed with fear and embarrassment, folks. She was and is so brave for doing this!

CD: “I’m sorry if this makes you uncomfortable. Do you need to take a break?”

KH: “I would love a glass of sweet tea if you have it, my mouth has just gotten so darn dry. But.. well see.. my Jez read this article online once and it told her that certain clothing could um.. increase your odds of breast cancer. In honor of that fact.. she had us both fairly limited up top.”

It was here that we had to take a break, her emotions having over taken her in a moment. This was a heart breaking scene, friends. I, for one, commend her bravery, but don’t stop reading yet! It’s just getting to the crazy parts!

KH: “I honestly don’t know what came over me… it’s just that. I’m in a strange new city and my old, well it was practically a different culture entirely. I should have stopped her, but she was just so passionate and about such a great cause. and… selfishly.. I had hoped the experience would bring the family closer together.”

CD: “Hey.. there is nothing wrong with that. We all make mistakes, but can’t always say it was for as noble reasons as these”

KH: “Thank you truly. That might be just what I needed to hear.” She paused a moment before continuing, “It was then that I am guessing the cowboy’s daughter came in and started shouting at us and threatening charges on us. We didn’t even know this woman and hadn’t threatened anyone but when we didn’t react with the fear she expected, she lunged at me.”

I was just as shocked as you are now, ladies and gentleman!

CD: “She actually attacked you? Unprovoked?”

KH: “Yes ma’am.. and I ended up on the ground pinned beneath feeling like I was fightin’ for my life. Ya know, between you and I? I think maybe she has that ya know head problem where the daughter’s don’t want to see their Daddy’s with another woman. Honestly, I just hope she gets the help she needs, I just don’t know if she should be carrying a badge and a gun, ya know? Seems a little unstable.”

Well, we all know that is not the first time we have heard something like that about the Hathian Police Department. Search HPD in this very paper and likely 50% are allegations of wrong doing against the department.

CD: “You mentioned the gang, right? The Rejects?”

KH: “Oh yes.. they were the most worrisome, I rather pitied the young officer and her potential mental traumas. The gang though.. it was like they had pulled up front and all jumped out of a clown car. They swarmed us and started shouting… I’m sorry… I just don’t have a clear recollection when the guns started being pulled.”

CD: “They pulled guns!!! Over harmless exposed skin? My god… I don’t know how you made it out, but it’s a testament to your strength.”

KH: “I only made it out with the power of a miracle from He who watches. You know the one. Without Him, we surely would be dead together on that bar floor.”

CD: “So what were your total injuries?”

KH: “Well I had a straight through and through on my shoulder, I have to admit, I always wanted to say that like they do on the TV. Then this lovely shade of blue and purple on my cheek and even my dear sweet Jez got grazed by a bullet across her arm. I just don’t know why what we did warranted such a violent response.”

She goes on to say that her gun shot was as a result of the officer while Jez’s bullet graze was one of the Rejects.

This was indeed a bizarre situation, wouldn’t you agree? Sometimes it just makes you wonder whether some of our most troubled minds in Hathian were in fact created from the fires, deep in the furnace otherwise known as the police station cell block. Could our very own HPD be actually creating the very minds that wind up threatening the defenceless? Leaving innocents like Karigan and Jez to suffer at not only the hands of the HPD but the HPD’s Frankenstein monster (The Rejects). It’s all speculation, I know, but it makes ya think. Doesn’t it? Perhaps the police department is just the gang with a better PR department and financial support.

(Dear Reader, please note that the ‘H’ in ‘KH’ stands for Hopper… mix that in with the above in case it helps you digest a little more… – Daiyu)

* – Observer staff unanimously agreed that clearly the name (which we had not heard) was the ‘Back Street Boys’. Any alternative seems to miss the mark, but perhaps OutKast?

You think you’ve got it
Oh, you think you’ve got it
But got it just don’t get it ’til there’s nothin’ at all
We get together
Oh, we get together
But separate’s always better when there’s feelings involved
