The Observer was sent an image from what appears to be an explosion yesterday somewhere near the Hathian PD.
The image, titled ‘Captain Go Boom’ was accompanied with the following note:
“Let this be a lesson to the HPD about paying debts.
You can run, but you’ll only die tired.”
From what little we can tell from visiting the scene later (see our header photo above which covers an angle over the scorched remains of the wreck), we think some kind of attack damaged or destroyed a police vehicle. When at the scene an HPD officer moved us on without providing more details, but in response to a leading question where they were offered a chance to suggest it was an accident or perhaps a gang car fire, they demurred.
The Observer has reached out to the HPD’s media team to ascertain what the story is here and will update this article if we receive a response. Thank you for citizens who advised that Captain Heckler was the target and thank you to an HPD source who advised he was living and breathing. Our article has been updated.
