In a city where secrets are as common as it’s suffocating heat, a new mystery has surfaced inspired by recent reports of chilling screams of pain heard through the halls of Hathian General Hospital, during the hurricane, leaving those taking shelter nearby with more than just shivers from the cold.
Witnesses claim that the scream was so piercing, it sent a wave of panic through the night, causing many to barricade themselves in the private rooms of the hospital. “It was like something out of a horror movie,” one local, who wished to remain anonymous, told us. “I’ve heard cries of pain before, but this was different. This sounded raw and filled with terror.”
There is a great deal of speculation over what might have caused such a scream. Some believe it could’ve been a patient in distress, possibly injured or undergoing a painful procedure. But there are other darker rumours circulating that something more sinister is happening behind the hospital’s sterile walls.
Another anonymous citizen commented, “It’s no secret that corruption happens in this city. Or that known criminals and gang members are employed at the hospital. Who knows what’s really going on in there? What if it’s not just a regular patient? What if something or someone is being kept there against their will? Or worse? People are being experimented on, or organs harvested. It happens you know.”
For now, the scream remains a mystery, but in a place like Hathian, where the line between good and evil is blurred, one must wonder what horrors might be lurking in the shadows of the hospital? And more importantly, are we all just an ambulance ride from finding out?
