Slim Goodies Diner yesterday became the latest business to fall foul of the gang violence that has lately been rippling through the city. According to eye witnesses, two men and two women approached the diner around noon, one man entering with a cattle prod and knives, the others remaining outside. During the attack, several windows were smashed and molotov cocktails were used to start a blaze.
Of the three female occupants of the diner, one received serious stab wounds. The other two appear to have escaped with mild smoke-related ailments.
While no group has come forward to claim responsibility for the attack, green spray paint was used to write ‘You reap what you sow’ alongside crude images of the grim reaper and the words ‘traitor’ and ‘Reject lover’. This comes only weeks after reports that the same words were written on the torso of several mugging victims, leading police to believe that the Reapers are responsible for the crimes. The assumed link to the Rejects has not yet been investigated.
While no one has yet been arrested over this latest act of violence, Slim’s manager Greenlee Morrisey has been interviewed by police. Although she declined to comment to the paper, she seemed unsurprised at yesterday’s events.
The investigation continues.
