Hathian Police Department News Release from Officer Fae Lindley
Around 1620 police and fire received a call of an unknown child on the roof of the police station. The child was standing on the edge as if she was going to jump. Fire officials brought in a ladder truck to tray and coax the child down, but attempts to rescue her were unsuccessful as the child fell from the roof of the Police Department building. It is unknown at this time why or how she climbed up to the roof.
Names are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
A spokesperson for the Fire Department said she was learning first aide from a paramedic at the Fire Station and wanted to be a paramedic when she was old enough.
Police and Fire officials are investigating the incident.
