Sometimes the day goes really badly. You get a message about someone important for whom you care being injured and after a long drive to find them at the place they were reliably informed to be, you find they’ve gone. Instead you get confronted with ‘bad’ of a different kind when the world can’t leave itself well enough alone for even a few hours and murder rises up.
And that was how it was when a naked (bar nipple chain) woman ran screaming round the corner and into the street outside the Hospital.
The gist of her cries were that her girlfriend had been murdered and that she had apparently, after stripping for a shower found this woman dead in a bathtub. Unusually perhaps for Laveau, citizens stopped to actually consider helping with a man and a woman working on getting a 911 call placed, although it appeared not to connect.
While there was a general reluctance to ‘get involved’ from all (including myself) and a growing suspicion that the murder (if it had happened) might well have more layers to it involving this woman we were not able to find out more as despite an effort to restrain her she ran away, faster than we’d have given her credit for.
So, with all we have to go on being these photos, if you do see her again… maybe you’ll wonder or worry about her girlfriend and what happened, or maybe you might wonder that you’ll be next and that she was merely trying to entice others… In Laveau truth seems even stranger than fiction and compared to Hathian, where I am usually based, the Bayou holds many more secrets than I could ever hope to fully uncover.
