CU his an enviable history of sporting success with competitions across Volleyball and American Football, with strong support from the Cheer squad as well. Recently though, the University has fallen on a little bit of a sparse patch in terms of silverware with the last major sporting trophy on display being from achieving the 2024 Volleyball State Champions. With the Ballbusters no longer playing, the University is now seeking determined, motivated and fit male and female students to represent CU across many different disciplines as well as continued support for the successful cheer team.
Join a Team
Get Splashed and join CU Swim! – You can find their sign-up sheet outside the CU Pool, which itself is located next to the Dorms.
Get Your Poms and join the Cheerleaders – You can find their sign-up sheet in the middle of campus near the small stage.
Get Hooping and join the Basketball team – You can find their sign-up sheet near the Basketball court (which itself is near the Football field!)
Get Sweaty and gear up with the Looters American Football team (Yes yes, just Football, but you know – British editor). The sign-up sheet is on the Football field itself, just to the right of the entrance!
Gets Balls and become the new generation of the Ball Busters. Become the ball smasher you were always meant to be! The sign-up sheet is inside the gymnasium!
And if you’re not aerobically fit? CU Students can use the campus dance studio, which also hosts fitness classes. And if you’re not ‘strong’, there’s the CU Gym where you can get your cardio and strength training in. No excuses students, other than the ones you make up every morning to not be better.
Basketball
Tasha, the new lead for the Basketball, (and also a popular musical talent as well) was keen to ensure that talented Basketballers reached out to her for try-outs and sessions. She provided her contact details to our editor, Daiyu, so that any students keen to get cracking with a team that appears to be growing fast reaches out before try-out spaces are finished!
