An armed officer from the Hathian Police Department shot and wounded a man outside of The Gein during an incident early Saturday morning.
While the circumstances of the altercation remain unclear at this time, authorities say the 29-year-old male suffered a gun shot wound to the thigh. Medics on the scene promptly transported the patient to Hathian General Hospital in stable condition. (The patient’s name has been withheld due to patient privacy laws).
Meanwhile, the officer in question was identified as Gabriel Kafka. In his report, Kafka wrote that he discovered the man smoking marijuana and asked him to leave. At that point, Kafka said that the man turned aggressive, forcing the officer to shoot the man in self defense.
Authorities from the HPD were unable to be reached for further comment.
