Last Saturday’s Lingerie Bowl attracted a large crowd of not only sports fans, but people that wanted to make a difference in the lives of those with cancer.
The game was packed with hits and tackles, and even though not a single touchdown was scored because of the aggressive nature of the players, it was still a game to remember. The highlight of the action was a massive collision that occurred just before the last whistle was blown, where Blue Baller captain, Valena Dowe, collided with Callista Kharg of the Brown Nosers, causing two other players to fly into them before the heap of women tumbled into the cheerleaders.
“That was the most fun I’ve ever had watching football, if that’s what it was,” says Audrina Canning, who acted as score keeper as well as watching the donations flood in. “It was also great to see so many people showing their support with the donation towards Val’s charity.”
Just over $10,000 was raised for the Hathian Cancer Trust, which came from multiple donors, but most notably Erin Frost, a local pharmacy owner, which was responsible for a large portion of the proceeds.
The coordinators say they plan to hold another game sometime in the new year, and rumours say it will be held around the famed Superbowl.
