I know it’s been a week since, Dear Readers, so yes, this is a smidge late. Still, now that I’m finally, ‘officially’ a CU Journalist for our campus supplement I thought what better way to start than with a party!
Hence, some pics from our Suits & Lingerie party thrown on the 14th. The garters and stockings were on display, the gents were all at their most dapper, and the drip was for real as we partied through the night!

First, off, what a setup we managed to get, decor-wise. I’d like to give a big, warm thanks to Shadmore and all the CU Maintenance and Groundskeepers for the light pergola and gazebo! They had to set it up on such short notice. It was all ready the night before and the result was still absolutely stunning!

The inside oozed style as well, with lights, cakes, champagne, and more. That morning of the 14th, pastries arrived courtesy of Annika and the Berthier St. Bakery! It was all sinfully delicious and so cheeky! I’m still snacking on the chocolate covered lollicocks!
Cometh the House, Cumeth the People
Taking some pics as folks filtered in! As you can see I had my long locks cut into a bob and felt inclined to channel a little Marilyn! I think this might become an ongoing thing for me…

Who’s Who?

We packed and rocked our historic plantation house with a who’s who of the CU student body and faculty, all grooving to a well received playlist put together by yours truly!
I looked to span genres and decades, with five hours of Deep House, Retrowave, 80’s Synthpop, R&B, Pop songstresses, and a little hip-hop. To be complimented on tunes by Sigma’s very own Isabis, a stellar DJane in her own right, was truly gratifying.

Speaking of Isa…with her, Olly, Brianna, and so many others around, I am continually amazed by how many brilliant and talented girls are in this house. It’s really an honor to head up the sisterhood. Ever since Buffy graduated and named me as her successor, my biggest hope has been to do right by all of you.
Furthermore, this wealth of talent has inspired new promotional materials, and perhaps even a new slogan. “House words,” if you want to think of it in GoT terms.
Of course, this is also a cheeky ‘wink-wink’ acknowledgment of the reputation I know we’re getting as a house. Well, forget the naysayers. I like to think of us as sex (and sex work) positive! Own it, girls! Sigmas do it with style!
On less pleasant topics, a few partygoers expressed to me that our bash was a welcome relief after the gassing and kidnappings that occurred at a warehouse rave the night before. How fitting for a Friday the 13th. That’s Hathian for you. Several Sigma sisters were in attendance at that rave; much to my relief, they made it home safely.

Unfortunately, we did have one altercation involving a broken bottle. However, injuries were minor and patched up without the need for first responders. Big thanks to Deke, a wonderful Good Samaritan who attended the party and applied his first aid know-how. With invaluable help from him and others, the situation was contained and defused, allowing the party to continue on into the night. Thankfully, cooler heads prevailed even after the event, as those involved have since made amends.
So, all things considered, I’d say our party was a resounding success! Dear Readers, keep your eyes on Sigma Theta Noir, ’cause we have plans for moving and shaking a lot more than just tailfeathers!
Until next time, keep it classy, Hathian!
