HATHIAN – A conversation at near the pier at the end of Hathian’s Red Light District ended with a police officer unharmed but shaken after a knifeman ‘apprehended’ her pistol and taser, which are now either at the end of a dumpster or maybe even at the bottom of the sea.
At around 5pm, Hathian Police Officer Quinnell was approached by an unknown man wielding a knife. The man, still unidentified except for a picture taken by a witness, held the officer at knifepoint, pressing the blade to her throat. The man ordered her to drop her service weapon and taser, which she did without resistance. He then issued a chilling warning for all HPD officers to stay out of the Red Light District. (This might explain my recent understanding that the raids in the RLD are not that often! – Ed)
“I’m a let ya go, but you goin’ back to tha’ station and tell the rest of them pigs ta stay out of the Red Light DIstrict,”

After the brief exchange, the suspect pushed Officer Quinnell away, grabbed the discarded weapons, and fled toward the pier. The unnamed witness stated he saw the suspect throw both gun and taser into the water before disappearing into a nearby alley. Officer Quinnell was subsequently joined by a fellow officer, confirmed the loss of her equipment, and reported the suspect’s threat. Fortunately, she sustained only a minor nick to her neck.
“Every bit helps,” Officer Quinnell told the witness after he provided a photo of the suspect. She also praised a woman in a red dress, who she said had run to alert the authorities, for “Doing the right thing.“
The suspect, described as a ‘needle in a haystack’ by police, remains at large. The HPD has launched a full-scale search of the Red Light District in an effort to locate him and recover the submerged weapons.
The incident highlights the ongoing challenges faced by law enforcement in Hathian, as well some in the community who are willing to stand up against crime.
