The porn studio in Laveau, appears as an unassuming building, a devil’s heart gives the only potential sign as to what might lurk within. Inside, the studio has a welcoming ambience. Bathed in spotlights, a large bookshelf of porn films and videos occupy one wall of the room. As you go deeper, there are rows of filming corners separated by curtains. The setup was efficient, with laptops positioned to stream the shows online.

Xena Rodriguez, the vivacious, welcoming manager was there to receive the Observer staff and to tell us about her increasingly famous business.

It was a place of work but also holds interesting experiences that occur on a regular basis. The manager herself does not star in any of the movies but finds inspiration along with her friends from reality tv shows and other pop culture references. Satire material is a strong theme for Wicked Studio.

The studio also has a presence online, their website is active, regularly maintained and has a live broadcast starring one of Wicked Studio’s girls. I spoke to some of the staff who seem to think highly of the establishment and are well compensated. Xena stresses that they keep flexible and well adjusted hours. The studio hires both women and men. And the atmosphere in the studio reflects a sense of harmony; a well run operation.

Cassy, one of the female porn stars, spoke of her enthusiasm towards the great job. Where she gets to be on camera and act out her “hobby”, meeting intriguing individuals and re-enacting exciting scenarios!

The demographic of studio fans seems to be mostly middle aged men, and Xena has a strict policy against receiving under aged clients. The girls working at Wicked also have Only Fans accounts and their fan base has only grown since they joined Wicked.

Xena welcomes those who would like to visit, the studio’s door is always open for potential stars.
