Halloween becomes HalloWEEK starting with city-wide trick-or-treating on Oct. 24th from 3 to 9pm SLT. Costumes are a requirement to get treats from business throughout the city. During this event, businesses will also compete in a costume contest, where employees at each business are invited to dress in a theme. People will be able to cast their votes for the business they consider to have the best costumes. The winning business will be treated to a private showing of a classic horror film at the Hathian Theater, delicious food from The Pie Hole, and an open bar. After trick-or-treating on Sunday, people are encouraged to wear costumes all week long.

The Hathian Haunted House will scare visitors from Oct. 24 to Nov. 2 in Rougarou. Fet Gede will be celebrated on Nov. 2 from 3 to 10pm SLT in Hathian. Hosted by Vudu Spice, Fet Gede is the Haitian Day of the Dead. People will be able to make sacrifices of food and drink to Iwa, and there will be dancing, drumming, and more. More information on this event will be provided closer to the date.

On Friday, Oct. 29, WKRK and The Hathian Theater will present Monster Mash starting at 3pm SLT. The “ghost hosts with the most” are Tala Coletti and Vicus Volkoff. The event will include food, drinks, music, and horror films, as well as costume and trivia contests.

The next night, Saturday, Oct. 30th, Hathian Theater will also play host to Devil’s Night, sponsored by Rader Records, in honoro of the chaotic night right before All Hallow’s Eve. Enjoy treats a plenty and music from No One Saved. If you come dressed in your favorite costume, you’ll have a chance to win some cool prizes. It all begins at 5pm!

This season of spookiness and pumpkin spice is also punctuated with letters and clues from the mysterious “Angel of Mercy.” This unknown person has sent two other letters (and clues) to the newspaper office over the past few weeks. Previously, this so-called Angel wrote about the crack people fall into — that crack being Hathian. The author seems to suggest some crime is afoot and that only those who care will be able to solve the mystery. Who knows what perils this mysterious person has in mind for the citizens of Hathian!
