Mother Nature Gifting Holiday Surprise?

It’s been a number of years since the harsher side of winter has seen these Lower Louisiana shores. But weather experts are predicting a possible return to unseasonably cold conditions for the St. Bernard region, including Hathian and its surrounding areas of Vodou, Rougarou, Devils Pocket, Black Bottom, District 8, and Batterie.

Just last week, the Observer’s Chief Meteorologist predicted a dip in temperatures this past week, with the highs only reaching to 58F/14C. But he was hesitant to reveal the likelihood of colder conditions arriving. “From the trajectory of this cold front, I wasn’t sure if it would turn, and didn’t want to alarm our residents without much cause. But, it seems like it’s still on course. It’s time to bundle up.”

While he couldn’t predict 100% sure, he says it is highly likely for temperatures not only to fall towards freezing starting late tonight, but also for precipitation to follow this week. “We haven’t seen snow since 2011, or was it 2012? They always say global warming is more about extreme temperature shifts rather than getting hot, and I guess I’m starting to believe it!”

((For the next few weeks, watch notices & disregard weather on the HUD!))
