New Intiatives Launched By Municipal Groups and City Council

Along with a new board of directors newly established in Hathian General Hospital, three new schemes are being launched one of which includes a  public/private enterprise between the new board of  HGH directors—Ms Kiyomi-Hasegawa-Roth and Mr Alfred Donardson and exiting city council members,  Ms Perina McGinnis, Ms Alexandra Markus, & Mayor Nick Matfield. The other schemes are joint initiatives between Fire Department of Hathian and HGH municipality services.

The first initiative to be launched by Captain Rousseau of the FDH and Ms Hasegawa-Roth and Mr Donardson will see FDH Emergency Medical Services and HGH medical staff volunteering their time, setting up booths in the city for a few hours weekly.

People will be able to benefit from free health consultations, access information about drugs, and request things such as clean needles, condoms, or even just a chat with HGH and FDH staff, whether it is about current employment opportunities or career advice in those fields.

FDH Captain Rousseau states, “ This initiative I hope provides all involved with benefits. Adults and children are welcome ta approach those behind tha booths. This is a chance ta boost tha FDH and HGH profile in tha community an reach out ta those who sleep rough an might not have a home or access ta medical services due ta no insurance, lack of finances an such. Ms Kiyomi Roth and Mr Donardson have been enthusiastic to undertake this scheme with tha FDH an’ are showing they are invested in Hathian’s community.”

Ms Hasewaga Roth released this statement:  “I look forward to the joint efforts by both Hathian General and the FDH. Above all else, we want to make sure that our community is better off by the changes that are coming.”
Mr Donardson  told The Observer, “The overall goal of these changes and programs is to not only raise awareness for the coming changes to HGH, but also to provide information and help ease any worries. We feel that by taking care of our staff and our community we can build that trust that is needed.”

The second initiative will see local businesses helping reduce crime in the city by offering job skills training and/or even employment at local businesses in the community.

The drug support group—a scheme ran by the FDH at Hathian General Hospital —will be offering this job related practical support to addicts who need help with finding work.

Both the FDH and HGH leading staff will work with businesses interested in supporting the scheme and volunteering to help train addicts in work based skills or even hire them. Businesses interested may contact Ms Kiyomi Hasegawa Roth or Alfie Donardson at HGH  or Captain Dimitri Rousseau at the FDH.

FDH Captain Rousseau shakes hands with HGH Director Ms Hasegawa Roth at their meeting in local business, The Daily Grind.

Thirdly, a public-private enterprise endorsed and backed by City Council and HGH directors Ms Hasegawa Roth and Alfie Donardson has seen an area of land in close proximity to HGH and FDH developed into apartments that offer a cheaper rental rate for municipal workers. [*Discount is IC only but rent is only 250 lindens pw for 90 prims!]

The block of six rentals offers the chance for workers in the city to be able to afford a clean, comfortable living space. They met to discuss and sign the initiative that was initially a proposal set forth to the parties by Captain Rousseau before being taken on board by both the council and HGH directors.

The rentals will be geared to offer municipal workers a cheaper rate for renting in the city and all involved believe that this will benefit those who work for the HGH and FDH emergency services as well as the HPD.

The scheme is the last legacy for the existing city council before it’s members are replaced. It is an initiative they hope will provide benefit to the community they have served for the past few years.

Ms McGinnis stated, “We’re happy to shift a few funds within the city budget to help with this project, and are glad we were able to find a developer in such short amount of time. These should help, along with Kota Corp, in attracting top talent, as well as help retain municipal staff for Hathian.”

The new board of directors at HGH have backed the housing scheme,  their agendas so far seem to involve an emphasis on community spirit.

BlackHeart Lofts is the name of the development and can be found located down the street from the FDH and HGH, at the farther end of Hathian Highway, the main road in the city which leads into District Eight. The units are split level–two storey apartments with six on the developed lot. A park, coffee shop and several businesses surround the area as well as the main Municipal buildings—the Fire Station and Hathian General Hospital are all within easy reach as well as Hathian Police Department.

[[**OOC Information:

The rentals are actual rentals, 250 Lindens Per Week for 90 prims. These units are aimed at provoking RP for those that belong to municipal groups such as HGH and FDH and HPD but they can be  rented by others also.]]
