Councilwoman Inara Shen Steps Down

1 min read

After only nine months on the job, Councilwoman Inara Shen handed her resignation to Mayor Karn Nevelle Saturday afternoon.

When asked, Shen’s reason for her departure from the city council was simply listed as “personal.” The Observer was informed that Shen has appointed Isabella Minoptra as her replacement and noted that although she just recently became the Dean over at Columtreal University, Minoptra is capable of handling the workload.

During her tenure as Hathian City Council Member, Shen helped to decriminalize marijuana possession in Hathian and wrote the legislation that legalized marijuana retail sale and growing. She expressed regret in not being able to follow through and assist the set up of the Cannabis Task Force, which was intended to inspect grow houses and retail establishments to ensure compliance to the law.

Shen assured the Observer that, “I have faith that Mayor Nevelle and my replacement will see it through properly.”
