As the year was coming to an end, Krystal Blossom was at work, tending the counter of XXX on Bourbon. Her day was normal until a mentally ill pink haired woman covered in tattoos and blood entered the store.
“I was at the store, doing the regular stuff, sorting out the DVDs and accessories. Then that girl appeared in the door,” the woman recalls. “She started to talk stuff like ‘mommy’ and ‘baby’. I thought she was assaulted or something and wanted to call 911, but she moved to the counter and grabbed my arms keeping talking about that baby-mommy stuff.”
Blossom, thinking the woman had some sort of mental disorder, tried to push her away. This only angered the attacker, who then forced herself on the woman. Blossom grabbed a baseball bat kept in the store for situations such as this, and fought the woman, managing to knock her down.
“She touched my lady parts, but I would not call it a harassment. I think she simply roamed her hands around me like a blind person,” recounts Blossom. “Maybe she needed to make sure I was a girl or something, since she said ‘do you want my baby’. It sounded not like a threat, but like an offer. I bet the way she is mentally, she could cut my tummy and put a doll in there.”
The perpetrator did not steal anything, but did damage a number of things, including the store’s laptop, as well as several displays. Blossom did not escape unharmed either, leaving the incident with a leg injury and noticeable limp.
The suspect could not be traced to any known gang, having no rags, arm bands, or colours that could be recognized. The clerk, however, did notice one very unique aspect of the woman’s appearance. She had few or no teeth.
The victim says that she isn’t looking for revenge, stating that “she was for sure mentally ill” and that she “probably made it even worse for her after hitting her head with the bat.” She also doesn’t believe the woman knew what she was doing, and only fought back to defend herself.
“I just want stuff like that never happen to me again,” says Blossom. “I will remember it for the rest of my life.”
