Observer Editor in Chief Valena Aubin went missing from right outside the newspaper’s office late last night in an apparent kidnapping.

Authorities first learned of Aubin’s disappearance after responding to an automated “FIREFIGHTER DOWN” alert had transmitted from the emergency radio belonging to her husband, Lt. Phil Aubin of the Hathian Fire Department.

Meanwhile, laying nearby, off-duty Officer Brook Lennox of the Hathian Police Department refused treatment from paramedics and insisted that she needed to leave.

As Phil Aubin managed to momentarily regain consciousness, he identified Lennox as one of the perpetrators in his wife Valena’s disappearance.  After questioning, responding officers released Lennox, but sources close to the investigation noted her deep ties to the HPD brass as a likely reason for her release.

As The Observer’s editor, Valena Aubin, remains missing, her husband, Phil, remains in critical but stable condition at Hathian General Hospital.

If anyone has information regarding the disappearance of Valena Aubin, please contact police or reporters at The Hathian Observer.
