In apparent attempt to silence the press, four officers in the Hathian Police Department took it upon themselves to raid and destroy the Observer offices last Thursday. According to one eyewitness among the four was none other than Chief Hendrich Andel, with whom Hathian’s only newspaper had previously enjoyed a cordial relationship. What sparked such action is not public at this time, though the Observer did receive word recently that the Chief had ordered all officers to grant no interviews to the press, signally the growing agitation.
What was left of the office after the HPD visit is nothing be proud of. In short, insurers count it as a total loss, as two tables, one antique desk, a large sofa, wall clock, and three laptops were all destroyed, while every surface of the single room wreaked of urine. It is unknown if the urine is the work of one large-bladdered officer or all four. No charges have been filed at this time.
