On Saturday 2nd October 2021, in an emotional farewell from his colleagues, Officer Kai Slater of Hathian Police Department was laid to rest in Hathian Cemetery.

As previously reported Officer Slater was killed in the line of duty earlier that week while he and a colleague responded to a robbery that has subsequently turned into a hostage situation at The Clam convenience store..

Many officers from Hathian Police Department were in attendance as Officer Slater was given a traditional Police Departement funeral, the mood one of sadness and sombre reflection on an Officer who had from reports showed signs of having a big future in the Police Department.

An honor guard of Officer Slater’s colleagues lined the cemetary as the firing party fired a round over Officer Slater’s coffin and the final radio call was made for the Officer in what was a very emotion moment for his colleagues and friends from Hathian Police Department.
